Dr. Munoz is a board eligible adult psychiatrist who completed his medical training at Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School. Most recently, he completed his psychiatric residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Over the course of his training, Dr. Munoz has practiced in various settings, including outpatient and inpatient, as well as in the psychiatric emergency room.
Dr. Munoz has more than three years of experience providing patients with compassionate psychiatric care through pharmacotherapy and supportive therapy. Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

Similar to another review left for Dr. Munoz, I was denied care because of my history of suicide attempts. It should be made very clear that this practice does not accept patients who struggle with suicidal ideation. Not only did they make me feel horrible about myself, now they’re saying my insurance isn’t being covered even though on ZocDoc it clearly says it’s within my network? Ridiculous. Avoid Dr. Munoz as well as any Talkiatry providers at all cost.

Challenging because needed treatment and provided on the case didn’t line up perfectly, but he was a great listener a great provider and diagnostician and had some great initial plans - will be following up with a colleague in my needed specialty as I really appreciated the practice overall and he made a great impression.

I was denied care as treating me would be "a liability" due to having passive suicidal ideation and a history of suicide attempts. This is despite the fact that I made clear that I did not have any plan or intent and that my previous suicide attempts were made over a year ago. Telling a person with suicidal ideation that they are “a liability” is extremely harmful, as people with suicidal ideation already feel like a burden. A psychiatrist that does not treat people with suicidal ideation is akin to a cardiologist saying that they don’t treat people who are at risk of a heart attack.

Dr. Jessi Munoz made me feel heard. I was a little anxious about how my visit would go, but Dr. Devesh provided nice calm and nonjudgmental environment. He provided background, education, and options for my treatment. I didn’t feel rushed or talked down to at all. I would definitely recommend him to family, friends, or anyone struggling.
