The doctor is very nice and competent.
However, the 30 min wait in the room is unacceptable and disrespectful of the patients time. I was only seen at 4.30 pm even though I was in the office on time (even before hand) and my appt was scheduled for 4 pm.

Dr. Hoot was incredibly thorough, friendly, and helpful! I always get a bit nervous going to the doctor, but she made me feel comfortable and made sure I understood all that she talked about. The office staff was very helpful, welcoming, and friendly. I would highly recommend Dr. Hoot for all derm needs!

I wouldn't go back because I didn't realize that by this being a "teaching hospital," that meant there were multiple students in the room when I was naked getting my skin checked. That was incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcome. I wish we were asked beforehand if that was ok.

Overall great experience with the doctor. Felt listened too and my concern were well addressed. Would recommend and look forward to going back!
Only negative was the frustrating process checking in at the office. There was a long line which took over ten minutes, turns out I was on the wrong floor (dermatology is on both the 13th & 14th floor), and then I was "blamed" for being late by the receptionist. However, was seen immediately after checking in so overall wait was really minimal and everyone else I interacted with was lovely.

Dr. Hoot was wonderful! She was calm and patient, and she took the time to listen to me and not rush through the appointment. She was also very receptive to hearing what it is that I was concerned about, and didn't just dive in and start analyzing my skin and telling me everything that was wrong with it. The office was well-organized and the rest of the staff was really professional, competent, and warm.

Dr. Hoot ended up being able to see me early and even over telemedicine was warm and listened closely to my needs. She went over all of the different treatments with me and made sure I had answers to all my questions. Very good experience!

Dr. Hoot listens attentively and took the time to discuss each of the possible treatment options with me. She's knowledgeable about the latest research in her field, which is refreshing, and she's really good about speaking in understandable terms. That said, her bedside manner isn't the warmest -- so it can feel a little bit vulnerable to have questions for her. Still, she'll patiently answer them, it just may feel uncomfortable to bring things up. I would describe her as room temperature, not cool or cold, by any means. She does seem to care about her patients, and I really appreciated that she walked me through all the treatment possibilities, not just the ones she assumed I'd be interested in and not just the ones she wanted to implement during the first visit. It helped me feel involved in my care.

The wait time was great, she came out instantly and was very professional. First I got there and I was told I needed a referral, when the person who recommended her didn't need to get one. Luckily my PCP sent one that day and I was able to see her. I also double checked multiple times to see if my insurance would cover my consultation and I was assured by front desk, and assistant that it was, just to be billed later. The pharmacy I chose for my prescription to be sent didn't receive it as it had been sent to Tufts pharmacy instead. Not the best experience.
