Dr. Joye is a true southerner, born and raised in Texas. She graduated from Brenham High School in 1993. She attended Blinn College for one year before transferring to Texas A &M University. She majored in Biology and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree. She then returned to Blinn College where she obtained an Associate degree in Nursing.
Her thirst for knowledge and professional growth lead her to Texas Woman’s University where she obtained a 2nd Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Nursing. In 2005 she became a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She then attended The University of Texas where she obtained a post masters certification in psychiatric mental health. Dr. Joye earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Chatham University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
She is board certified by the state of Texas to practice in family medicine and she is board certified by the states of Indiana and Texas as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
She has devoted the last 16 years of her career to diagnosing and treating patients with a myriad of diagnoses. She has focused the last 10 years of her career on mental health care; diagnosing, treating and bettering the lives of those battling mood disorders, post-partum mood disorders, psychosis, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Insomnia, sleep pattern disturbances, PTSD and anxiety disorders. Dr. Joye has a combined total of 16 years of experience as a provider working in the criminal justice system and in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
She is a married mother of two sons. She enjoys reading and traveling and exposing her sons to different places, lifestyles and cultures.
