Dr. Julia Shulman specializes in medical and surgical management of vitreo-retinal diseases and ocular inflammation.
Dr. Shulman graduated from the Cooper Union with a degree in chemical engineering and completed her medical training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. She completed her residency at NYEE and a surgical vitreoretinal fellowship at the Moran Eye Center, University of Utah. After completing her training, she served as assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Florida, Gainesville where she also held the title of Director of Pediatric Retina.
Dr. Shulman conducts clinical and basic science research and has published numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters. Her research interests include angiogenesis in diabetes and retinopathy of prematurity. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
