After college, she worked as a clinical research coordinator at Albert Einstein Hospital for two years before attending medical school at the Thomas Jefferson University, also in Philadelphia. Dr. Lorton completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. She continued at Montefiore for her fellowship in Endocrinology & Metabolism. During her Endocrinology fellowship, Dr. Lorton worked in Diabetes research.
