Thinking about starting therapy is a big step that can bring up a variety of feelings- excitement, apprehension, worry, hope- or maybe all of these at once. I am grateful that you are taking a few moments of your time to learn a bit me and my approach therapy so that you can get a feel for what it would be like to work together.
Inviting a therapist to join you on your journey toward wellness and growth is a tremendous honor and it is important that you find a therapist who is a good fit. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Ohio and I studied psychology and sociology at Ohio State before completing my doctoral training in psychology at Xavier University. I have worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, university student health and counseling, and private practice. I have experience working with individuals of all ages. I particularly enjoy working with adults who are in transitional phases of life and are struggling with anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, attention problems, sleep issues, depression, or low self-esteem.
In our work together, I will work hard to genuinely understand you, your background, your decisions, and the concerns that have brought you to therapy. My hope is to provide a warm, compassionate environment in which you can explore and understand yourself better.
