Dr. Kaity Yim is a double Board-certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist. She specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of medical dermatological conditions, such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, skin cancer, and pigmentary skin lesions – including melanoma. She also specializes in procedural/cosmetic dermatology and facial rejuvenation, including injectables and laser treatments. In addition to her clinical work, she is fellowship-trained in dermatopathology, a specialty within dermatology that allows her to diagnose skin conditions by looking at skin biopsies through a microscope.
She is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, and attended college at the University of Southern California, where she was accepted into the Baccalaureate MD Program that encompassed matriculation into the Keck School of Medicine at USC. She graduated summa cum laude with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Natural Science and received multiple awards for her diverse academic pursuits. She then completed her medical degree at the Keck School of Medicine at USC, medical Internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and dermatology residency at LAC+USC Medical Center.
Throughout her medical training, she participated in basic science, translational, and clinical research in skin cancers, psoriasis, teledermatology, rare genetic skin diseases, and the effect of COVID-19 on clinical efficiency and patient safety, resulting in dozens of published peer-reviewed articles, conference posters/presentations, and a textbook chapter. After dermatology residency, she went on to further specialize in dermatopathology and completed her fellowship at the University of Massachusetts.
Dr. Yim strives to always take the best care of all patients in dermatology, regardless of age or skin type, at the clinical and microscopic level. Outside of dermatology, she loves spending quality time with her family and friends, tennis, yoga, traveling, and, of course, good food!

Dr. Yim is warm, attentive, diligent, and gracious. I have a history of melanoma in my family and she took care to make me feel safe, heard, and understood during and after my skin check.
It was my first time getting botox and I love the results. Again, she made it easy and approachable. And I feel more confident and better in my skin.

I had a mole on my arm that had been bothering me for a while and finally had the opportunity to see a dermatologist for it. Meeting Dr. Yim was such a joy. I was so happy to hear that she was also a dermatopathologist and she explained everything from my biopsy to my results so clearly and I felt so comfortable every step of the way. I usually have a million questions and Dr. Yim was so so patient both in the office and on the phone. You can tell she really cares about what she does and cares about her patients.

Absolutely loved meeting Dr. Yim and really appreciate all of her help. I have been suffering from acne for quite some time and began to feel like there wasn't much else I could do to help my skin. For years, I'd been struggling with stubborn hyperpigmentation on my face. I tried everything from OTC creams, serums but nothing seemed to make a difference. I decided to seek out a dermatologist and am very happy to have Dr. Kaity Yim worked on the spots on my face.
Dr. Yim took the time to thoroughly explained my options and suggested on laser treatment. The laser treatment itself was much less painful than I anticipated. Dr. Yim constantly checked on my comfort level throughout the procedure. The recovery time was also surprisingly quick and manageable.
I see a significant improvement in my hyperpigmentation. While most spots are gone, there is one spot that needs additional treatment which was explained at the onset of this treatment. I will be going back to have this spot treated.
While individual experiences may vary, I would highly recommend Dr. Yim to anyone struggling with hyperpigmentation. Her expertise, coupled with her genuine care for her patients, is truly exceptional.

I received both a laser treatment and botox from Dr. Yim and could not have been more happy with my experience! I was a little nervous at first, but Dr. Yim explained what she was doing every step of the way and checked in with me to make sure I was doing okay. Dr. Yim is the BEST dermatologist I’ve ever had. She treated my acne with an effective routine and also treated my tough keloid with steroid injections and lasers, which has significantly reduced it in size and lessened the red color! I’m very happy with my results and can’t wait to go back!

I saw Dr. Yim for cosmetic procedures. She is extremely kind and will provide thorough explanations to your questions! I received multiple rounds of PRP injections from her. She made the overall process so easy and reduced my anxiety surrounding needles. She is an amazing provider and I recommended her to my friends and family!

Dr. Yim was really great. She is totally professional while still being really friendly. She listened to my concerns and paid close attention to details.
She treated my melasma with a melasma toning laser, and then prescribed a cream for continued treatment. It’s working!
She also worked on my sunspots (so many!) with a laser. It took about a week and a half for the spots to fall off, but they did! Definitely decreased their appearance.
I was so happy with the results that I went back for toning. All the treatments were painless, and I was really impressed with how careful Dr. Yim was, and how much attention she paid to detail.
She checked on me several times to make sure I was comfortable, and explained what was going on. Thanks again Dr. Yim!!
I also appreciated how nice the Metropolis office is! The staff is friendly, and the office itself is very calming. If I need more done, I would definitely go back!

I went to see Dr. Yim for my acne scarring and hair loss concerns. She was extremely knowledgeable and developed a treatment plan for me that was easy for me to understand. Just after my first few visits, I started to see amazing results. We did microneedling, PRP, and she prescribed a few medications that were effective. The entire staff and office was very efficient and I had a great experience.
I highly recommend Dr. Yim as a dermatologist for any of your skin needs.
