In the mid to late 1990's Dr. Schneider trained in orthopaedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery followed by a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital. She has 15 years of extensive clinical and surgical experience in the treatment of a variety of orthopedic injuries and problems including sports injuries of the knee, shoulder, foot and ankle.
She has treated athletes at all levels from the weekend warrior to the professional athlete. Her fellowship training included working with the New York Jets and Rangers as well as Hoftra University athletes. She has worked at the U.S Tennis Open, treating players, for the past 11 years and also done work with U.S. Swimming.
I am committed to providing each patient with the highest quality of care with personal attention to each individual's goals and needs. I take the time necessary to discuss each patients concerns and to explain to them their diagnosis and recommended treatment. All patients requiring surgery will receive the highest level of care.
As an experienced physician, I look forward to caring for your orthopaedic injuries and working with you to achieve the best possible outcome. I care about your needs and encourage open communication and feedback.
We accept some Oxford/United Healthcare plans, Worker's Compensation, No Fault, and Medicare. For Medicare we are "non-participating" which means that we do not accept assignment so patients pay at the time of the visit and then we submit to Medicare for your reimbursement. We see patients "out of network" who pay and are given a receipt with appropriate codes to submit to the insurance company.

Even though there was minimal wait time to see Dr. Schneider, I felt rushed everytime I saw her. I was in a lot of pain and she was not very comforting or reassuring, and her matter-of-fact manner did not make it encouraging to ask questions. Many times she just said she didn't know, and that I would have to see someone else. She was all too quick to suggest surgery (it had only been a week) and kept following up to see if I had booked the appointment with the surgeon she was referring me to, rather than my pain and how we could treat it together. This made me uncomfortable that there was something else going on behind the scene. I ended up getting more time and attention from my physical therapist.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Schneider last week, I was seen by the Dr. in less than 5 minutes. Dr. Schneider answered all my (many questions) and did not make me feel rushed. She did a thorough exam of both my knees. She recommended I get X-rays, and if that did not reveal the issue, I should get an MRI. So her receptionist gave me an X-ray Rx form which I took up to the 12th floor. The X-ray process took about 10 minutes, and then I took the elevator back down to her office on the 8th floor, and with in 5 minutes we were reviewing the x-ray images on her computer. She told me what she saw, and how that related to my symptoms. Advised I go get the MRI. Her office is going to call my insurance to make sure I have the pre-authorization necessary for the MRI, and then I can book the MRI appointment from a list of medical imaging established she provided. She gave me some exercises to do in the mean time to strengthen the muscles around my knees and hopefully provide better stability and reduce pain. I can't really imagine anything she could have done better. I am happy to recommend her to any one with my full confidence that you will have an excellent experience.

The office staff is very attentive & helpful. I was in a lot of pain and the doctor did her best to determine the cause and prescribed PT and an Rx to alleviate the pain immediately. She listened to me and explained what was going on in a very clear and approachable manner.
Her office is located within Lenox Hill Hospital, which is convenient and easy to get to.

My personal Orthopedist was out of town and i was having significant knee pain that needed immediate attention. I made a last minute appointment with the Dr. She was very well informed, studied my previous MRI and x-ray, and suggested an additional new x ray. Radiology took me within a few minutes and was I back in her office to discuss my issues in very little time. We decided on the immediate treatment and discussed future treatment with my usual Dr. or with her. All very professional and easy. The up front staff could not have been more pleasant or accommodating. I considered myself lucky to have found such a good Dr. with so little time to research.
