I truly recommend Dr. Alleyne, as his bedside manner is always very kind and considerate. He was once again thorough in his explanation of my condition. He is not just concerned with giving me a diagnosis but also concerned with the type of treatment that I am comfortable with and that I have a full understanding and in agreement with. The office staff are very kind and accommodating, from the inception to departure. The office is very clean and gives a warm feeling while awaiting your appointment.
Doctor Alleyne has an easy-going and patient manner. He listened to my experience and explained the problem to me thoroughly. Would be perfect if he is more on time, but still highly recommend it.
I only waited a few minutes with some complementary coffee and was treated right away when I got in the room! Very happy about it.
Got right to the point and laid out a plan quickly.
Very professional. Listened and made solutions.
Dr Alleyne is pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. He dealt with my treatment very professionally and I would recommend him.
Dr.Kenneth is both professional and funny! He gave me some really good advice for the problem I have.
Pleasant, very knowledgeable. His assistant is very helpful.
He was courteous, prompt, and professional.
Very polite, down to earth, caring doctor.
I especially appreciated the follow up phone call to check on me 2 days after my appointment. The office was clean, receptionist was kind and Dr. Alleyne demonstrated a thorough understanding of my symptoms and how to best treat my hand infection and injury.
The visit was excellent. The staff and doctor very professional. The staff make all needs are met..
He was terrific. Knew immediately what my problem was, projected confidence, even checked in to make sure I was happy with his service.
Dr. Alleyne knew right away what was wrong and had straightforward solutions. He was not interested in giving me surgery I don't need, and laid out all of my non-surgical options.
The best doctor...diligent, makes sure you get the right tests done and get quick results with a recovery plan. Well connected and treats every patient like a VIP.
I felt like I was not given adequate time or attention for my visit, and Dr. Alleyne said he would recommend some physical therapists but when I looked at the papers he gave me, it was literally just a printed Google search for physical therapists in SoHo.
Definitely knew what he was talking about, experienced with sports injuries (i'm a dancer) so he knew what i was talking about right away and gave me more examples of what i probably feel and they were accurate. He gave me an injection for my bursitis right then and there!
Very satisfied with Dr. Alleyne - went above and beyond for me, and helped me return to training quickly.
Dr. Alleyne is a treasure! He's very personable and offered some great strategies toward addressing my challenge. Looking forward to realizing the results of the strategies.
Dr Alleyne is an affable, caring doctor during the times I have seen him. That said, I am extremely disappointed with the administration services that schedule his appointments. It takes at least 4-6 times of calling the office to actually get an appointment. Sometimes their email doesn't work. There is considerable effort that needs to be made to actually just MAKE AN APPOINTMENT with this doctor. I cannot fathom how this is so difficult. Making matters worse is that he works from different offices on different floors, so no one seems to have 'responsibility' for him. This last appointment actually never happened. I was called days before my original appt (scheduled on a Friday), told Dr couldn't come in. That's fine, I realize doctors are humans who have lives too, so I simply rescheduled with no complaint. I rescheduled for the following Wednesday via ZocDoc, I was then called on that Monday by his assistant who told me to "come Tuesday, as he's out Wed". I told her I couldn't do Wed and why was I able to schedule for the Wednesday if he wasn't available? The assistant said she'd get back to me, she never did, I then got a voicemail hours later, then an email AND a text confirming the appt Wed. So I figured she sorted the issue. But nope, I showed up at the time confirmed by phone, text and email and he wasn't even in that day! I was furious, no one in the office could give me any answers. Just to recap: I was cancelled on, rescheduled the appt, then called to move it to a date that didn't work for me, then told it was ok by THREE SEPARATE methods of communication, then I show up and he's not there. I was mostly upset the assistant just insisted that 'there's no difference moving it from Wednesday to Tuesday." If there's no difference, then let me keep my appointment for the time I actually scheduled it! There was no understanding at all that I have a job and a life and that i cannot just change everything the day before. I am extremely angry about this waste of my time and energy. Now, apparently he's not back in the office for several weeks, when he's back I'm not available. So because I was cancelled on in mid July, now I cannot see him until mid September. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. I asked to have the doctor call me, I have not gotten any call.
In 2016 after badly tearing my Labrum Dr. Alleyne surgically repaired it. After a year of PT and very light weight training my shoulder is as good as new. I'm in the best shape of my life with no shoulder discomfort whatsoever. Two thumbs up!
It was short. Probably as short as this review. So short I didn't believe his diagnosis until another provider confirmed. He was right so he wasn't to bad.
Cool guy, very knowledgeable and helpful.
Do yourself a favor and go with someone else. Great bedside manner but I had an appointment on June 24th at 4:45 pm and when I got there no one was there. He just left the office before he saw me.. You can't get anyone in the phone it's just goes to a voicemail. He doesn't actually have an office her just rents out spaces. I was supposed to get measured for a knee brace and after they canceled on me my last appointment someone emailed me and after 4 days of badgering whoever replied the personal finally ordered my brace and sent it in the mail and it was way too big.. Just save yourself he headache
The visit was great. The front desk staff as well as the DR were very nice and personable. Would highly recommend them!
Very Professional, took his time. Explain everything very well. The office is clean. Staff is very welcoming.
Long story short, Dr. said the condition I have that has been causing me pain in my shoulder for 5+ years is simply "weak woman's shoulder". I'm a professional drummer and musician, and my shoulders are not weak, I know it. My follow up appointments were cancelled 3 times in a row for unknown reasons.
Staff is great, facailities are great as well. Dr. Alleyne is a little quick, but seems very knowledgable. Answer all questions
The office is lovely. The staff was welcoming and super friendly as well as professional. Dr. Alleyne was wonderful and knowledge. I would absolutely recommend him!
friendly staff and extra attention to my issue
The person that assist me was very nice and concerned about if I was ok and ask me did i needed anything and the doctor was so concerned about my problem I never felt so comfortable. This made me feel welcome I always was afraid to go to doctors they mafe me feel welcome and at ease they were very caring.
Dr. Alleyne saw me right away, discussed my condition with me thoroughly, and gave me all of the options for treatment, recommending starting with the easiest and least-invasive first. I also really appreciated that he recommended some over-the-counter, alternative treatments as well (i.e. ginger and turmeric for joint pain). I very much appreciate when doctors are aware of and discuss options like this, instead of just recommending drugs / surgery.
Amazing Doctor! Knows his stuff! Assistant was amazing as well!
I went to Dr Alleyne for help with shoulder pain. He spent maybe 3 minutes with me, and advised me to try physical therapy and then an MRI if it doesnt get better. A month later, after the pain did not subside, I tried to get in contact with his office to authorize an MRI for me. It took 5 calls to two offices and a week just to get someone to call me back. Once the MRI was scheduled, I was told that the doctor would call me "within a day or two" with the results. 4 days of the MRI I started calling. 10 days later, after leaving numerous messages with no response, I left a message for the doctor's assistant informing her that I was planning to report them to the Department of Health. Then miraculously, 3 minutes later, I finally received a call back from his assistant who, in the most disrespectful manner I've ever been spoken to, told me that Dr. Alleyne is doing me a favor and that he'll call me when he's ready. Almost a month later, I still have not received my MRI results from his office. All in all, this has been the most unprofessional medical experience I've ever had, and I'd recommend saving yourself a lot of hassle by choosing another Orthopedic surgeon.
The doctor was knowledgable and explained my condition and his recommendations very clearly. He was efficient, but not at all rushed. Great visit!
One of the best experiences with a doctor that I can remember. Professional, friendly and thorough. And they've got a beautiful fish tank in their office!
I did have to wait a bit to see the doctor but his bedside manner made up for it. I liked that he recommended natural remedies (vitamins) to help me deal with my knee issues as well as normal medical recommendations.
Very professional and informative.
Saw me right away (no wait, knew exactly what the problem was immediately, explained to me exactly what was happening and the full breadth of possible courses of action to take. Exactly what I was hoping for.
Knowledgable and to the point. I like that. Explained the problem thoroughly and his staff were also the same way.
My visit with Dr. Alleyne went extremely well. Especially considering I was running late due to traffic...he was able to accommodate me and spend a great length of time addressing the concerns I had with my knee. The best bedside manner I have encountered with a surgeon...this was actually a second opinion as the first surgeon I met with did not provide enough information and even told me to "google" my questions. Dr. Alleyne presented as the complete opposite answering all of my questions and was open to follow-up. I could not be more pleased with my care and visit to the office.
He was a little quick, but answered all of my questions. I was able to see him in a reasonable amount of time.
My visit was great. His staff was very kind and efficient. He was very professional, detailed and courteous. The facility is very well kept & inviting.
Informed. Professional. Friendly.
Dr. Kenneth Alleyne was very pleasant to speak to and share my concerns with. This was my first time at this type of Dr.'s office, so I wasnt sure if I was explaining myself well but Dr. Alleyne reassured me he understood and provided a game plan to get me back in the swing of things. The waiting area is very nice, the rooms are very clean and the receptionist staff (I think I worked with Erin) was excellent. They even have complimentary WiFi to use as you wait. Another bonus, if it is convenient for you - they have a physical therapist available on the same floor!
Dr. Alleyne was a good doctor and even though he was always running late, he was thorough and good at his job. I would not recommend his office because they have issues I, as a patient, would rather not deal with. First, I was explained that the doctor doesn't get paid directly by the insurance because it is the choice of the practice for patients to receive checks from the insurance, then deposit them to their accounts and later pay the doctor. Not only is this an unnecessary hassle for patients, it's even a bigger hassle to actually pay. You receive a bill but they don't specify where to call or who to talk to in their office to pay, or even an address to send a check. When I finally figured out who to call, nobody picked up the phone, I left several voicemails and then received an email from Eileen at the billing department saying my account was past due, apparently she never heard the messages. Finally, I call her and pay my bill, only to receive another email TWO MONTHS later from the same person telling me my account is going to Claims Court for collection. I was very confused and called Eileen yet again, only to have her confirm that I had indeed paid already. There are many good orthos out there, I would not be coming back to a place that makes it so difficult when it simply doesn't have to be.
Very professional, knowledgeable and straight to the point. I feel comfortable with this physician for all of my orthopedic concerns!
He is a nice guy, but there is a major issue when trying to refill medication. Nobody will call you back. I was transferred many times only to end up with a voice mail. I left many messages but nobody ever called me back. I was unable to get a prescription refill and nobody ever told me why.
Office was great! He was very nice - in and out quickly.
Dr. Alleyne was a pleasure - a true gentleman.
The staff is welcoming, the office is comfortable, and Dr. Alleyne is definitely a wonderful doctor. He was thoughtful and explained my knee situation perfectly. I would highly recommend !
Dr. Alleyne was great - very professional, answered all of my questions. The staff was kind and very attentive.
Great appt. but waited forever
He seems very knowledgable and quick to understand my problem and offered good options to persue.
Lovely person. The office will order an MRI and we will see about which treatment to take.
My visit with Dr. Alleyne was great! Since I was able to fill out majority of the new patient paperwork online, I was seen almost immediately after arriving to the office. The doctor and his staff were very professional and the office atmosphere was very orderly. All in all, this made for an awesome first time visit.
Let me start by stating that Dr Alleyne is a fine doctor. I was his patient for two issues (lower back pain and knee pain). In the fall of 2003, he diagnosed the back issue skillfully and recommended a great surgeon, who did a great job addressing the problem. When I developed knee pain in the spring of 2014, I returned. My first visit went well - he believed I had an issue with my meniscus and recommended an MRI. His office was supposed to receive the MRI and schedule a follow up. After not hearing back for several weeks, I called the office several times until i dicovered hat they neglected to request the MRI results from the imaging center. After finally obtaining the MRI, a couple more weeks later I was able to get a pre-surgical clearance appointment. I was told that after this appointment, the office would schedule my surgery. After 6 weeks of multiple voicemails, but no returned calls nor an appointment for surgery, I decided to dismiss Dr Alleyne from my service. I had to visit his office twice before I received my records. At the end of the day, I've gone 4 months with knee pain simply because his office is incapable of managing patient care. Dr Alleyne is a good doctor, but unfortunately he allows himself to be surrounded by incompetence.
Dr. Alleyne is friendly, lighthearted and professional. I would highly recommend his practice.
I got there and they told me the Dr. had a meeting, and couldn't make my appointment. No one even tried to call me to let me know. They have one of the most inefficient offices I have ever encountered for many reasons.
Dr. Alleyne was great! He was conservative in his approach, took his time to listen to all my concerns and ended up not recommending any further procedures, just simple stretches. I had set out to find someone who would thoroughly evaluate my condition, but not pressure me into surgery - that's exactly what I found.
I am no longer factoring in the nature of my visit to this office in this review. Dr. Alleyne's office is incredibly unresponsive. I have been waiting on MRI results from them for almost a week and no one has returned my phone calls or attempted to phone me with my results even though the radiologist said it would take no more than 24 hours for the results to process. The way this office communicates with patients is unacceptable.
Dr. Alleyne only saw me for a few minutes, but was able to diagnose my problem immediately. He recommended two physical therapists. There was a little bit of a wait to get my prescriptions, but overall Dr. Alleyne's team was efficient and extremely friendly. I would recommend him, although patients should note that he travels from CT. I was asked to move my appointment later because he was stuck in traffic.
I liked that he took my concerns serious enough to recommend an MRI right away. Before doing any preliminary tests.
Friendy, helpful staff put me at ease. Dr. Alleyne was able to diagnose me quickly and recommend next steps!
Very disappointed with my experience. Dr Alleyne is based in Hartford, CT but comes to NY every other Friday. He books patients every ten minutes, meaning you will wait 45 minutes to see him. He spends about 5 minutes with you and is not very thorough. In my case, he took 2 weeks to make a recommendation (which was to do what I was doing before I saw him the first time). He was no value added and set my recovery back 2 weeks
Dr. Alleyne was very nice but the wait in his office was not. I waited over an hour to see him to about a cyst on my wrist. He did drain it right there in the office and was very good about it. He warned me that the cyst could come back and it did, I just don't want to wait in his office to have it removed again. So I will probably go somewhere else next time.
Went in with a sprained ankle. Waited a fairly long time in the exam room and only saw Dr. Alleyne for about 3 minutes. He sort of felt it a little and then referred me to an off-site x-ray center that was pretty far away, not to mention difficult for me to get to on a busted ankle. Still got dinged with the specialist rate and paid a hefty copay for basically nothing.
It seems like the doctor was in a rush... Very unprofessional!
The appointment lasted less than 5 minutes. I was not a severe case, but I really felt he wasn't very helpful. I ended up going to another doctor to get a better understanding of why my knee/shins were in pain.
long wait, for a very short actual exam / consultation. Was the first visit, will have to get MRI and physical therapy now, so will have to see. Staff and cleanliness of the office is immaculate, very nice, professional staff, Doctor himself nice too, but seemed a little rushed (he was about 40 minutes late that day, which is why my wait was so long).
The receptionist called me the day of my appointment to move in back because the doctor had some morning emergencies. I appreciated that very much and the wait time was less than 15 minutes.
Dr. Alleyne is great - friendly and informative. I always wish doctors slowed down a bit and gave me some time to think - I always have questions later but feel a bit rushed (on to see the next patient!..). I felt this way here to some degree but since I've never been to an office that did not operate in this manner, it's hard to hold it against them. A business is a business and I am a client. Go see Dr. Alleyne! You won't be disappointed.
It was a short visit but he was very kind and didn't make me feel like he was in a hurry at all. He made me feel entirely reassured of the prognosis.
Great doctor, quick service. answered my questions and alleviated my pain.
I waited for two hours in the waiting room and then another 45 in the examination room. Dr. Alleyene spent less than 3 minutes in the room with me (I timed it!). I came in for an injured knee and he diagnosed it as "probably a sprain" LITERALLY without touching it/seeing me walk.
Seemed knowledgeable. My situation was minor, but he answered all my questions satisfactorily. He could have given a more friendly vibe, but then again we're not there to make friends.
I thought Dr. Alleyne was very good, he is professional, prompt and appears to understand his patients needs. The office is clean, the staff friendly. However, if you need to contact them you cannot! Anyone who answers the phone redirects you to his assistant and gives you her cell phone of which she does not call back. Dr. Alleyne recommended a Physical Therapist, but he does not accept my insurance. I suggest that Dr. Alleyne recommend a few PT's as when you try to contact him for another recommendation who may accept insurance you cannot get through to him or anyone in his office. It is very frustrating and unprofessional. I am not sure that I even want to go back to him for the follow up...
He was very professional and well explained. He sent me some medications and therapy. But i still waiting for my prescription. The medicine was supposed to be on my neighborhood pharmacy since friday. I can say again that he is very professional but his staff is not helping him. I went to a doctor because the pain that I have been experiencing, and I'm still on pain.
I have a lot of confidence in Dr. Alleyne. He gives good, sound, thorough advice that has proven accurate in my case. An excellent doctor.
Dr. Alleyne was really great and spent as much time as I needed to go through everything. He answered my questions and put me at ease. He ordered a MRI, which I promptly got, but its been a week and I have NOT been able to get in to see him/get him on the phone for the results. His admin has been very responsive and helpful in getting the MRI approved, but it shouldnt be this difficult for a quick follow up on those results.
It was impossible to contact the doctor or his assistant after i saw him and it was impossible to get them to fill the prescription.
I was pleased with his immediate accessment of my issue. I was already aware of the problem, he just comfirmed it, afer examining my knee. I liked that he made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I liked that he welcomed questions and answered them with confidence, ease and knowledge. He gave me options to resolve the problem. I especially like the professionalism and friendliness of the office staff. I was extremely pleased with my visit.
If you go to Dr. Alleyne's office you are going for the staff. They have quite possibly THE BEST front office staff you will ever encounter. They are quick, efficient and most of all...hilarious!! I had so much fun talking with them I forgot that I was in miserable pain. Dr. Alleyne himself is quick and thorough with just enough bedside manner to avoid making it feel like you're wasting his time. I highly recommend this office for anyone seeking any kind of orthopedic work!
He did not take the time to explain to me in details in order for me to understand my problem. I had to look for it in the internet and I am still not sure if I know the real meaning of my problem.
The doctor was very thorough in explaining the procedure that I would be having. I am not satisfied with his office staff. I went to this office in August and they never billed me the copayment. I phoned and spoke to his assistant and she stated that it would be taken care of as of today it still is not on my account. I had a death in my family so I explained to his assistant over the phone that I would phone her with the information so that the surgery could be scheduled. I phoned her on November 7th and left her a message explaining for the second time that a third party company would fax papers over regarding my disability. My surgery was supposed to be scheduled for December 6th which is the date I gave to her in Nov. She said that they were meeting with the doctor that Friday to go over his schedule and she would get back to me. I never received a call so on Tuesday November 26 as we were heading into the holiday and I wanted to touch basis to make sure everything was on schedule. I left a message and she phones back and in that discussion she now says that she is waiting for a pre-surgery form from me. I asked her if it was mailed and she says no they were emailed it to me. She never emailed me and I checked my spam folder as well. Now I have to go in this Wed to a MD in their office to have the pre-surgery exam. Keep in mind my surgery date was supposed to be Dec 6th now it has been pushed to the 13th. On Saturday I received a letter from my disability company stating that they have not received any paperwork from this office and my time has not been approved. Are there any competent orthopedic offices in NY?
Upon my first visit with Dr. Alleyne, I was seen at my scheduled time, he asked questions that were not asked before and he was honest and friendly and made me feel as if He was truly concerned with my injury. He is excellent, his staff is wonderful and very friendly and very accommodating. The group itself works well together. I have recommended Dr. Alleyne to other co-workers who did not believe that I had surgery on a Friday and was back at work on Tuesday. He is amazing. Thank you Dr. Alleyne.....I am coming for my ankle next. You are awesome.
very personal, informative and quick.
This was a very short consultation. Dr Alleyne was quick, to the point and wrapped up very quickly. I left his office with no questions in my mind, which is hard to come across these days. Def going back.
He knew exactly what issue I was having after a few examples if pain. Super friendly and so nice to have answers to my questions ! Going back in a month after therapy ! For a follow up
My visit with Dr. Alleyne, MD. The medical personnel were courteous, friendly and professional. The office was clean and smelled good and sanitized. I was contacted me the earlier in the morning to inform me that the doctor may be running behind schedule due to a previous surgery at another location because my scheduled appointment was later in the afternoon. I was tended to right away when I entered the office and kept updated about the status of the doctor's impending arrival. When the doctor arrived, he saw me immediately. Dr. Alleyne was very attentive and listened intently when I described the symptoms with my wrist which had been bothering me for at least a week. He diagnosed me using both the medical term and layman's term for the condition with its associated symptoms and recommended options for treatment which were left up to me to decide. Overall, I was really impressed with Dr. Alleyne, highly recommend him and look forward to my follow up visit in a month.
Dr. Alleyne has a very nice, approachable demeanor. His office staff is very pleasant.
Very good overall. I think I will b coming back.
It was great. The staff was really friendly, the wait time wasn't long. The office called me in the morning to let me know that the doctor would be running late due to surgery for my afternoon appointment. I really appreciate that because I didn't have to go to the office to wait more than 15-20minutes. Dr. Alleyne had great bedside manner and I would definitely go again!
Excellent explanation. It gave me much more peace of mind by having him explain the injury
It was a very pleasurable experience. would highly recommend Dr. Alleyne. Even the women working at the front desk were kind and helpful.
Very knowledgeable and friendly. Great first impression. Staff was lovely as well. Thank you.
I will never return to Dr. Alleyene. I waited over two hours to see him. One hour in the waiting room and another in the exam room. So disappointed with the visit. He gave me a Rx for PT and sent me on my way. I'm sure he is very nice but the disorganization and long wait was enough for me.
very professional & quick.
Extremely knowledgeable, quickly figured out what was causing my chest pain, and answered all the questions I had. Couldn't have been better.
First visit, so I wasn't expecting much treatment other than ordering radiology, but I got a very good impression from this doctor. He seemed interested in helping, explained thoroughly & clearly, and chose an initial course that made sense to me. The receptionist was great too.
Dr. Alleyne was very pleasant and seemed knowledgable, but I was annoyed to have waited a solid hour to be seen (no apology, no explanation) only to have my actual appointment last less than 5 min.
Dr. Alleyne seemed very knowledgeable and was able to deduce what was wrong with my knee after listening to my explanation of the problem and my history of injuries. He explained it simply, showing me pictures online of what is actually occurring in my knee and why. This is the first time I felt like a doctor 1) really listened 2) took the time to explain and 3) demystified the whole thing. Highly recommend him.
Great guy. Great reputation.
Dr. Alleyne was amazing. The office staff was incredibly helpful and courteous and got me straight in to see him. He was warm and made an effort to connect to me before even beginning the exam. The exam itself was quick but thorough. It took only a couple of minutes for him to see me and recommend physical therapy. He comes highly recommended!
The staff was super friendly for a NY office. Dr. Alleyne was very knowledgeable and he listened to all of my issues plus, he was really handsome. I would go back.
Knowledgeable, Professional and very personable.
I was completely satisfied with everything. I asked so many questions and he aswered them all. I would definitely return.
Dr. Alleyne's bedside manner is absolutely amazing. However, he didn't spend a lot of time with me, instead ordered an MRI right away. I'm sure our next appointment will be more elaborate. Also, but prepared to wait-- I was in the waiting room for nearly 45 minutes.
