My priority is safe, individualized care for every patient. I am a specialist in cancerous and noncancerous diseases of the lung, esophagus, thymus, and chest wall. In addition to training in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery, I have extensive dedicated training in the care of cancer patients including groundbreaking treatments such as immunotherapy. As a surgeon, I am experienced in the most up-to-date techniques including robotic minimally invasive surgery, bronchoscopy, and endoscopy to provide my patients with state-of-the-art care. Along with the entire team at Houston Methodist, I will strive to make your experience as seamless and as comfortable as possible, and I will be there to guide you through a personalized care plan. Having grown up in East Tennessee, Dr. Katherine Gray earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University followed by a medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in North Carolina. Dr. Gray then moved to New York City to train as a general surgeon at the Cornell campus of the New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she also completed a combined research fellowship in minimally invasive surgical techniques and the regional delivery of immunotherapy for the treatment of patients with gastroesophageal cancer. After residency, Dr. Gray stayed in New York City to complete a surgical fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where she was trained by leading experts in the field of thoracic surgery. Dr. Gray joins the division of Thoracic Surgery at Houston Methodist as an expert in malignant and benign diseases of the lung, esophagus, mediastinum, and diaphragm. She has a particular interest in the treatment of diseases of the esophagus including esophageal cancer, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and achalasia. She is a specialist in minimally invasive procedures including robotic lung resections and robotic esophagectomy.
