Kathleen Prendergast is a nurse practitioner, board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Association in adult psychiatry/mental health. She graduated cum laude from Jersey City State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Dr. Prendergast then went on to receive a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Rutgers University with the specialty of Adult Psychiatry and Mental Health. She was also certified by NEI as a Master Psychopharmacologist and received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Seton Hall University.
Dr. Prendergast had worked for over 30 years as a Registered Nurse in a variety of areas including psychiatry and substance abuse. As a nurse practitioner, Dr. Prendergast has treated individuals and their families in outpatient settings dealing with many conditions, including anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit disorder and alcohol and substance abuse. Additionally, Dr. Prendergast has served on the graduate faculty of Rutgers University. Dr. Prendergast has been a Clinical Expert on the Scholarly Review Committee for the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. She is also the President of the Society of Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses.
