Dr. Kenneth Bloom returned to the New York metropolitan area and joined Advanced Dermatology Associates in 2015 after having practiced at the University of Minnesota and in private practice as a pediatric and general dermatologist for 25 years. He is originally from the Detroit metropolitan area. He went to the University of Michigan for his undergraduate degree and Wayne State University School of Medicine. He then completed full residencies in Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD and the State University of NY in Syracuse, and Dermatology at New York Medical College. He is been board certified in both fields. He was active and instrumental in the formation of the pediatric dermatology subspecialty board by the American Board of Dermatology and was one of the first certified. In addition, with the importance of electronic medical records and data security, he obtained a Master of Health Informatics from the University of Minnesota and was one of the first boards certified by the American Board of Preventive in the new field of Clinical Informatics. He was named for many years as a Top Doctor by his physician colleagues in the Mpls-St Paul Magazine. Dr. Bloom enjoys the challenges of pediatric, adolescent, and adult dermatology. He has a special interest in birthmarks and congenital disorders of the hair, skin and nails as well as caring for patients in our practice that require surgical procedures. He is also an avid golfer, skier, and cook, a “song and dance” man, and enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
