About Dr. George Romar
Dr. George Romar is a dedicated dermatologist with a passion for treating disorders of the skin and hair. A native of the Houston area, he received his bachelor’s degree from Rice University. He then attended Harvard Medical School in Boston, where he conducted extensive laboratory research in severe allergic drug rashes and graduated magna cum laude with his medical doctorate.
Dr. Romar completed an internship in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, followed by a residency in dermatology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. Dr. Romar is excited to care for patients with dermatologic concerns at locations in Harlem and in the Bronx, where he also serves as the regional medical director.
Dr. Romar’s clinical expertise includes general dermatology with special interests in allergic rashes and various types of alopecia. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Romar enjoys live theater, personal fitness, exploring new restaurants, and working on innovative projects.

The doctor was great but their billing people are really terrible. I did not owe a copay, but they kept on insisting it even after I showed proof through my insurance portal AND written out by my insurance's support advocate. So my second visit was canceled because of their broken billing process. They refused to check me in unless I paid two co-pays, which I need to stress were NOT owed. This office needs to get its act together because this is unacceptable and very unprofessional.

I would not return to this provider. He did not approach my concerns with empathy nor curiosity but rather made light of my issue by making badly timed jokes about putting me on drastic medical interventions, without asking any questions about my preferences or lifestyle. He made multiple assumptions, and considering that this was my initial visit, he made no effort to get to know me or my stress levels, diet, or other habits, nor was he interested in collecting any bloodwork to base his suggestions on actual medical evidence - all information that is relevant to the concerns I brought to the appt. I will not be coming back.

This place is very unprofessional. The wait time was more than two hours. The dermatologist never saw me, because I was so annoyed by the long wait, I walked out! What is mind boggling, it wasn’t even crowded! Do not go to this Dermatologist you will regret it!
