Dr. Zygmunt has lived in the Chicagoland area all his life. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Biology from DePaul University and earned his D.P.M. as a summa cum laude graduate in 1981 from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his specialized training in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center, which included an intensive three-year surgical residency.
He has instructed aspiring foot and ankle specialists throughout his career, initially at the University of Chicago Medical Center as clinical assistant professor of surgery. Currently, he instructs residents from Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in their post-graduate training program.
He has made media appearances and is a renowned guest speaker and author. His contributions to the advancement of podiatry (including his own groundbreaking procedure, the Z-Bunionectomy, which is an outpatient procedure for the correction of bunions) are well known in the profession. He was Editor of Podiatry Tracts, a journal that keeps professionals abreast of current topics relating to foot and ankle care. He has served on the credentials committee and has been an oral examiner for the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
He is on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital, Edward Hospital and several ambulatory surgical centers in the western suburbs. Dr. Zygmunt's commitment to the betterment of his profession is surpassed only by his zeal for the well-being of his patients.

I would highly recommend Dr. Zygmunt. I was able to make an appointment for the next day. He was right on time and very friendly and helpful. He took the time to make sure I understood my foot problem. I am very happy with the Doctor, staff and appointment. I am fussy too so I always want things to go right.
