Keren Klaus is a NYS licensed Acupuncturist who has been practicing Chinese Medicine for over 15 years. Keren’s journey began at the age of 10, when she started studying Japanese Martial Arts under the instruction of Toyotaro Miyazaki, a world-renowned Shotokan Master. Keren quickly advanced up the ranks and earned her black belt at the age of 18 – teaching Karate for several years thereafter. As a teenager, Keren became passionate about medicine and Asian philosophy. When her school friends were at the movies, Keren was in Chinatown, looking for herbal remedies and books on Chinese Medicine. This love for Asian medicine naturally led Keren to the field of Acupuncture – it only made sense.
In 2006, Keren earned her master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the New York College of Health Professions. She then advanced her education further by apprenticing with world famous professor, Dr. Stephen Jackowitz – a Harvard graduate and leading expert in the field of East Asian medicine.
Over the years, Keren has treated thousands of patients who had undergone various degrees of physical and emotional trauma. This high-volume level of practice has made Keren’s needling skills extremely smooth and very comfortable for her patients.
Keren has worked alongside physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, chiropractors and other healthcare practitioners. This multifaceted experience helped shape her integrative approach to her treatments.
Today, Keren sees private patients in several locations in NYC. Her specialties include: Women’s health (including fertility and pregnancy support), anxiety, depression, gastrointestinal disorders, endocrine imbalances, immunity, as well as chronic or acute pain.
Additionally, Keren provides nutritional counseling and believes in maintaining a plant-centric diet for optimal health.
