Dr. Kevin J. Kessler is the medical director of Kessler Sports Medicine Center. He is Board-Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and fellowship trained. He is a Clinical professor at University of Miami and Nova University. Dr Kessler has been in practice for 20 years and as a teaching professor, he is on the cutting edge of new technology in orthopedic surgery. He provides a full array of orthpaedic services with specialties in Shoulder, Knee and Elbow. Dr. Kessler's Medical training includes Fellowship in Sports Medicine, knee shoulder and hip, at The University of Miami. He has 20 years experise in total knee and shoulder replacements/reverse total shoulder replacements. He has provided orthopaedic medical coverage for many of the professional sports in South Florida including team physicians for the Miami Frenzi-Arena Football, Florida Atlantic University, New York Yankees Baseball Team (Spring Training), the Baltimore Orioles, the Miami Dolphins Football Team, and the Florida Marlins as a consulting physician. He has more experience with ACL reconstructions and rotator cuff repairs than any other surgeon in the area.
He has cared for many of the athletes such as Gary Sheffield (Florida Marlins/Yankees), Roberto Alomar (Baltimore Orioles), Michael Moorer (two-time heavyweight boxing champion), Chris Singleton (Miami Dolphin), Bobby Bonnia (Florida Marlins), and Shannon Briggs (professional boxer).

Go somewhere else if you have the opportunity. Some staff are very nice, others cannot be bothered. Dr. Kessler seems to have no empathy for what a patient states they are experiencing. If what is causing your pain does not show up on an X-ray, it's invalidated completely and patient is made to feel pretty dumb. Tried to meet with a Vicki at my last appt to go over paperwork needed by my job, told tech and dr I needed to see her to do this, she never came out and never contacted me back. Just a hassle from day 1.

Dr. Kessler was very courteous and professional. He is also quite knowledgeable and got me relief right away by just using x-rays. Didn't seem to think I needed a CATscan at this point , which woulve just been an added expense that was not neccesary at this point and I really appreciated that.

The office was immaculate and efficient. I received my initial paperwork in the mail prior to my first visit to speed up the pre-visit process when I arrived. The office staff was very friendly and Dr. Kessler was as reassuring as he was knowledgable. Great experience all around.
If you need an Ortho, Dr. Kessler is fantastic (though I'll share a wish that you don't need an ortho as a disclaimer)!

I've seen both Dr. Kessler and his associate Dr. Shafi. I would recommend either one in a heartbeat. I see Dr. Shafi more than Dr. Kessler now but both are excellent. Dr. Kessler does seem a bit impersonal but still super knowledgeable. Dr. Shafi on the other hand is one of the nicest doctors I've ever seen. He's very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. Love this facility and all its doctors including the pt staff!!
