I did not like how the techs basically do the entire exam and then the doctor comes in after but I guess that is how it is done these days. It has been a while since I have had a eye exam. The girl doing mine seemed new....I kept telling her there was not a difference in the slides and she was looking at me like I was crazy. When the doctor came in to check things he figured it out pretty quickly. She must have been doing something wrong. And since when do they send you out with dilated eyes and no sun glasses? I am glad I had mine in my car. Honesty was kind of a "mill" like setting but I have to say it was organized and friendly. What I really liked about the doctor was that I wanted to get some creepy contacts for Halloween. He explained why they were unable to provide a prescription for them regarding liability, etc. Understood...but he even offered to give my co pay back if that was the only reason for the appointment. I needed my eyes check anyway I told him. But then like a week later he had his assistant call me to get some specialty contacts ordered. He apparently did some research and found some that were FDA approved. Totally above and beyond in my opinion.

Dr. Donausky graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana where he not only excelled academically but also played for the U of I Lacrosse Team. He received his doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2003. Shortly thereafter, he moved from his hometown of Chicago to Scottsdale, Arizona mainly because of the weather and what the valley of the sun has to offer recreationally.
Dr. Donausky is licensed by the Arizona State Board of Optometry and is TPA and DPA certified. Dr. Donausky has met and completed all requirements of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.

I appreciated Dr. Donausky's professionalism. The staff was very friendly and also very professional. I did feel that I was a bit hurried through my exam with Dr. Donausky. Doctors need to understand that patients sometimes don't know what questions to ask.....we need a little time to think about what the doctor is sharing with us and think through our concerns. The total time I spent with Dr. Donausky was 10 minutes or less.

Dr. Donausky was very thorough but also quick, which was nice. He handled what I needed done and got me a script that would make me more comfortable at night when I drive but is not too strong so that it does not over do it.

Very nice office, looked like new technology for eye exam. Wait wasn't too bad- a young tech did 90% of my exam, I prefer to have the OD perform the exam. Will return for check up next year.
