I am straightforward in my approach and take pride in being authentic and candid in my practice. I often use humor and sarcasm with my clients, always with kindness and respect for their individual needs. I am bilingual in English and Filipino (Tagalog) and bicultural as a Filipina-American. I am adept at working with BIPOC populations and meeting the cultural needs of my clients. Empathetic, non-judgmental, and intuitive, I always consider the role of racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual identities and backgrounds in my clients’ lived experiences. I practice with a critical lens that takes into account current social issues and historical events affecting individual identity. I take a social justice stance in my work, recognizing the powerful social, cultural, and political forces at play in the lives of BIPOC and other marginalized communities. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University Northridge, which has further equipped me to provide culturally responsive and socially aware care.
