Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Dr. Camejo received her Medical Degree from Central University of Venezuela "J. M. Vargas" School of Medicine in 1999, graduating at the top of her class. She completed her Ophthalmology Residency in 2006 at the prestigious University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) followed by a Glaucoma Fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Joel Schuman and Dr. Robert Noecker in 2007. Dr. Larissa Camejo was offered and accepted the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh as well as the Director of Bethel Park UPMC Satellite, positions she held until she left Pittsburgh to come to Florida. After years in private practice in Florida, she felt the need to follow her heart and open her own center with friendly, respectful and skilled staff, and top of the line modern equipment to provide unparalleled eye care to her patients. Dr. Camejo has written and presented several articles and abstracts in peer reviewed Ophthalmology journals. She is the co-editor of a Glaucoma column and has been an invited speaker at national and international glaucoma meetings.
