She keeps me grounded and focused on what I need to do. I find that very helpful. And, it's not as bad as I think. So many things she has gotten me through--like talking through medication. I have learned things about myself that I didn't know.

I have been a licensed psychologist for more than 15 years. Psychodynamic and relational theories guide my practice. Psychotherapy is a new relationship with the potential to help people change, solve problems, or live more peacefully in light of any problems they experience. Early work in acute care settings solidified my expertise n the evaluation and treatment of trauma, substance abuse, violence and the major mental illnesses. In private practice I have pursued several areas of interest including: relationship issues, mid-life concerns and crises, the psychology of girls and women, pain management, depression, anxiety and painful self-experience.

Dr. Pontrelli is extremely professional yet very personable which is a rare quality in therapists. She listens intently and provides great insight and because of her great experience, I feel I am learning and gaining a lot out of my visits. I highly recommend Dr. Pontrelli.
