Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, co-owner of Healthy Hive, Wife, and Mama to our wild child, Avery. Through a challenging pregnancy, birth, and first year of life, Avery is always keeping us on our toes, and feeding her has proven to be one of the most challenging & rewarding experiences yet.
In her early months, we struggled with breastfeeding, weight gain, GI issues and suspected food allergies. I spent countless hours crying, pumping, stressing over supply, researching formulas, overanalyzing diapers, weighing baby, restricting my diet, and taking diligent notes to somehow fit all the puzzle pieces together. I was drowning in it all.
But things began to fall into place when I learned to let go and let Avery take the lead. After starting solids at six months, her growth took off, her GI issues resolved, and she was truly thriving. Mom and Dad got to share our love for cooking (and eating), and she eagerly ate her way through 100+ foods long before her first birthday.
Sometimes, nourishing a child who is struggling with nutrition can be all-consuming. And sometimes, it takes asking for a little help to get through it. Feeding Avery helped us find the joy in parenthood again. And now, it's my mission to help other struggling families do the same.
