Dr. Lawrence Zweibel earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University before going on to receive his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed his internship at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York and served as chief resident in ophthalmology at the French and Polyclinic Medical Center.
Dr. Zweibel has been a partner of SightMD (formerly North Shore Eye Care) for the past 25 years. He is a clinical instructor at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and serves as Chief of Ophthalmology at St. Catherine of Sienna Hospital in Smithtown. Not the best doctor. I told him my symptoms, which included having floater and eye pain for the first time and I am under 30 years old. I waited just about 2 hours to see him and he literally saw me for under 5 minutes, didn't explain anything only asked 2 questions and said everything looks good, book him for next year so we can do an annual exam. I mean really?? So i should just be okay with these horrifying new symptoms and just see how things go until next year?? I wouldn't advice anyone going to see this doctor. I will say this, his staff was amazing, very friendly and did everything to make me feel as comfortable as possible.

Great doctor, horrid wait. 1 hour and 10 minutes to be seen. Apt with the Doc took less than 5 minutes.
I like the doctor, no complaints with his professionalism or knowledge and is very nice. But the scheduling clearly does not value the time of their customers.

I'll definitely be going back and will probably recommend him to my family members. The staff were courteous and the wait time was short. Good magazine selection and I appreciated that the TVs weren't tuned to talk shows. The doctor took time to examine my eyes and explained everything to me, answering all my questions patiently.

First visit. I left the office thoroughly impressed. The staff is friendly and warm. They took their time with me to explain everything. The doctor was professional..and I had a 115 appointment, and was taken at 115!!..
