Uptown Dermatology generally and Dr. Leah Jacob specifically were a real treat. I don't look forward to physician visits; but seeing Dr. Jacob is more like catching up with an old friend. Not at all intimidating and a consumate professional!

I have seen Dr. Jacob for a number of derm issues- ranging from removal of a growth on my foot, to unwanted hair, acne, and botox & fillers. She is super easy to talk to about these topics which one could normally feel insecure talking about. She thoroughly reviews and discusses options available. I have been very pleased with the treatment options pursued & results. I would highly recommend Dr. Jacob for derm problems and cosmetic dermatology!

Dr. Leah Jacob was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana. She first moved to New Orleans in 2001 to complete her undergraduate studies at Tulane University. She received her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. While in medical school, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, an honor reserved for students in the top ten percent of their class. She went on to complete her residency training in Dermatology at Tulane, where she served as chief resident during her final year. During her residency, she co-authored several publications on the use of cosmeceuticals in skin care. Dr. Jacob is well trained in both medical and cosmetic dermatology and prides herself on her ability to make her patients feel comfortable and at ease during their visits.
Dr. Jacob is married to Christian Jacob, a facial plastic surgeon who practices locally at Hedgewood Surgical Center. They currently reside in the Warehouse District with their two pets, Molly and Toulouse.

Dr. Jacob is an outstanding dermatologist and even more, an outstanding person. She is very knowledgeable and stays current with all of the proven medical procedures, treatments and latest trends. She performs a thorough skin check and has a great eye for spotting and removing suspicious skin conditions. She is an attentive listener, evaluates your cosmetic/dermatologic needs and suggests options for your consideration. She answers all of my questions and addresses all of my concerns. I began getting routine injectables to improve my appearance and the results were beyond my expectations! I highly recommend Dr. Jacob to all my family and friends – she is the BEST!
