Dr. Roberts was very polite and had great bedside manner. She explained everything to me very thoroughly. She put my mind at ease when I had questions. Thank you. She's retiring soon but I wish her all the best.
Saw the other reviews saying Dr. Roberts was rushed, etc. and I honestly appreciated it. It was nice to be in and out. If you're a first time OB-GYN visitor, this might not be the best place for you to learn what's going on. Additionally, she didn't knock on the door after letting me change into the gown and back into my clothes. Just walked right in. Also, the intake conversations with the Nurse Practitioner happened in an open hallway. No privacy as I talked about why I was there. The office is super outdated but I got the help that I needed, and everyone was very nice and willing to help me.

More about Dr. Lee Ann Roberts, MD

“As women, we have unique health concerns that often have an emotional impact on us, as well. I think my personal understanding of these issues helps me connect with my patients. Beyond my skill and experience, the empathy I give patients goes a long way toward their excellent care. It comes naturally to me, and it’s the kind of treatment I believe you deserve.” "I was exposed to the medical field from an early age as my father was in pharmaceutical sales and management. My scientific interest, love of problem solving and skill with procedures led me to find a home in gynecology. My aim is to always give each patient the best options to manage her gynecologic health and enjoy the lifestyle she wants. I have had many years of support from my wonderful husband, John. We have two grown sons and two grandchildren, as well. Outside of the office, I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading, embroidery and travel.” “One of the best qualities of my patients here in Raleigh is that they are receptive to the educational opportunities I present. As a gynecologist, it’s my duty to provide women with accurate, up-to-date information about their health, about options for treatment and about how they can become proactive regarding their health. Beyond the facts, I’m here to motivate and support the women in my care and help them realize their own abilities to take better care of themselves. It’s one of the most rewarding aspects of what I do.” We strive to see patients on a timely basis and work them in for problems whenever possible. Therefore we ask patients to help us out with advance notice (at least 24 hours)if an appointment needs to be cancelled or rescheduled. Our office does have a policy to charge for no-shows and short-notice cancellations after the first instance.

She was rough and pushy. She made me uncomfortable.
great doctor overall
Dr. Roberts was very polite and had great bedside manner. She explained everything to me very thoroughly. She put my mind at ease when I had questions. Thank you. She's retiring soon but I wish her all the best.
The doctor barely listened to any of my concerns and prior diagnosis, labs, and simply offered to do a wellness exam (which I didn't need) and aside from referring to another specialist didn't care to listen or advise on anything else. The entire appt lasted 5-7 minutes, and I paid the full copay for nothing. Would never want to go back or recommend anyone does the same.
Very good experience
I’ve had way better experience with Pap smears. This was rushed, uncomfortable and painful. Young lady warned me after she got done with hers. The doctor informed me that she is retiring in a few months, so I guess she’s just waiting for that moment and is not really concerned with building a relationship with her patients. It also explains why the visit was super rushed and why she just shoved the spatula up in me. Very painful situation and she didn’t try to help when I told her that she was hurting me.
I felt violated! I went in for a pap smear and it was the most uncomfortable experience in my life. It felt like she just shoved the equipment into my vagina and did what she had to do. Did not consider my experience or pain level at all. I’ve had 3 paps in my life and this was the worst. Most doctors discuss my vaginal health and prompt me through the entire process, which was not the case here. I cried on my way home bc I was in disbelief how uncomfortable she made me feel during this exam. The office is also old, dusty, and outdated!

I made my appointment and listed that I wanted my birth control removed and replaced, and when I arrived at the office they did not have my birth control actually in the office, so I could not do what I scheduled my appointment for. If I listed what my appointment was for, why did they not call me and order birth control ahead of time or let me know? Dr. Roberts then insisted I do a pap smear, which I was not prepared for. When I questioned, she offered no comfort or bedside manner that was kind or patient. She rushed me along and was not gentle or reassuring even after I expressed being hesitant. She was unnecessarily rough with the internal exam and did not apologize or even acknowledge that I did not have the appointment or service I intended to have. It is quite jarring to have a rough internal exam with someone who does nothing to comfort or assure you when you express clear discomfort. She mentioned she is retiring soon, so I hope she treats her last patients with more grace. What an incredibly violating experience to have.

From the check in staff to the nurse and to the doctor. Wonderful! I would recommend! This was my first visit since i moved from New Jersey. Everything was wonderful and easy.
Verified patient
Very interested in my needs and concerns. Attentive and thorough! I’m a little sad she had to tell me she is retiring at the end of the year but she said she will have a replacement personally picked and lined up for 2022...i definitely trust her and will trust her pick.
Verified patient
Very comfortable in her care.

Quick and easy!

She was a little abrasive. The office is decorated in old fashioned stuff. Overall wasn’t horrible but likely wouldn’t return here unless necessary.
Dr Roberts is an excellent physician. I like her very much. She explains the procedures and makes me comfortable throughout the exam. I highly recommend her.

Office is taking minimal COVID precautions. Receptionist did not wear a mask at any point, doctor and nurse only occasionally. Did not feel safe.
Everyone in the office was very pleasant..
Started visiting Dr. Roberts and I absolutely love her. She is very professional and her staff is welcoming as well. I would highly recommend going to her office.

I've been seeing Dr. Roberts for four years now and I couldn't see myself going anywhere else in this area! She, along with the whole staff, is very kind, supportive, and professional. I've never had a wait time longer than about 5 minutes and I always have a positive experience.

We felt very rushed throughout this appt. Dr Roberts did not seem interested in taking the time to thoroughly address my daughters concerns or answer our questions. Her nurse was both unfriendly and actually laughed quietly when my daughter explained her medical problem in the exam room.. Dr. Roberts did not explain what would happen during the exam or show any compassion to my daughter, who was obviously very nervous. The entire experience was rushed and clinical.. My daughter was left feeling respected, upset and still having questions . Dr. Roberts needs to work on her bedside manner, especially with younger patients, and find more professional nursing staff. I am not happy or impressed. If anyone has a young daughter, I would NOT recommend this doctor.

Dr. Roberts was amazing. I had a horrible, painful experience with my last annual pap at a different doctor the previous year so I was very nervous for this appointment. She was done so quick and I experienced no pain whatsoever. She was very helpful with all the questions I asked and she did a great job explaining everything. I have already told some friends that they should go visit her when it is time for their paps. I highly recommend her.
Pleasant. Fast. Effic. Satisfying.

Always have a great visit.

Dr. Roberts is always very friendly and gets straight to the matter at hand. She makes me feel incredibly comfortable every time I see her. I highly recommend her.
I didn’t not like her. I felt she was dismissive of perimenopause symptoms or didn’t really believe there are symptoms. Hard to explain, but sort of scoffing at the idea?? Made me feel a little bit crazy, because I know what I feel and experience and in researching and talking to friend and family there seems to be a lot of women who experience the same things (ie sudden extra weight in mid section, tender breasts, sleep disturbances). I went to her because it was indicated online she was good with HRT. However, she expressed the belief that all of them are equal just administered differently. This too is fine. But I was hoping for a bit more guidance and/or suggestions. And the breast exam was a lot different than I’ve ever had, but it wasn’t painful or rude. Just different. But the office staff were friendly as was Dr Roberts. Again, I didn’t not like her, but felt she was too skeptical of symptoms because there’s no ‘tests’ to prove things.
