I enjoy the multifaceted art of nursing and medicine and believe in developing caring relationships with patients. I enjoy hearing patient life stories and I am grateful for the many opportunities afforded to me to guide patients on their health care journey. It does take a village and being a part of a care team that helps to improve quality of life and optimal human functionality is important to me.
I started my health care career as a volunteer in a nursing home. I obtained American red cross training, then nursing assistant certification to work in a nursing home and as a private duty sitter. I then worked in a pediatrician’s office for 7 years while obtaining an Associate degree in nursing. I wanted to work in a hospital setting and started out on an Ortho/Neuro/Urology floor for 1 year then worked in an ICU/CTICU setting for 8 years as a bedside nurse and 18 years as an NP with cardiothoracic vascular surgery team. I have worked the last 5 years as an NP in a Family practice office.
