A graduate of Hofstra University, Dr Kirkland received a Bachelors in Visual Science and Doctorate of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. During her externship, she received extensive training in ocular disease and glaucoma management at St. Albans/Brooklyn VA Hospital, New York.
Dr. Kirkland participates in VSP Sight for Students program, volunteers with Prevent Blindness America, and is a member of the National Glaucoma Society. In the community she known for providing vision screenings at local Health Fairs in churches and recreation centers.

Dr. Kirkland made me and my sister feel very comfortable. She showed great interest in our health and I truly appreciate the time she took to listen to one of my concerns. The timing was perfect, not to long or to short. The staff in the Hillside office was professional and very nice.

I waited 30 minutes until I was ready to be seen and then a patient who had called in with an emergency walked in and I waited another 20 minutes for them to be seen. I was in no rush but then I heard from 3 other patients waiting with me that we were all booked for the same time! Dr. Kirkland made me forget about all of that; she was extremely attentive and helpful and I didn't feel rushed at all.

The two members of staff were polite, but not particularly warm or friendly. Dr. Kirkland was efficient and competent, but I was annoyed about the long wait.

She was very nice and caring. Nice office space, seems fairly new. When i arrived I Pre-filled all by paper work online which is great. Not a long wait. I like that she was talkative and asked questions about how my eyes have been feeling. I also got to pick from free glasses. Great! will def recommend and be visiting again.

She's very professional and understanding. She explained everything to me and covered all options available to me for treatment. The wait was a little longer than the prior visit, but honestly, the wait was worth the treatment received. I'd consider it to be a non-issue.

While parking can be a little challenging ( I advise you have enough quarters for meter parking on the side block or you can park in the paid parking lot directly around the corner from office) the office is pleasantly decorated and spacious. The receptionist and assistant are warm and helpful.
