I have been a patient of Dr. Saimovici since 2006, I have followed him each time his practice moved since then. On May 15th I called to confirm my appt about 2hrs before and the receptionist (Shauna Richardson) explained that they do not have my medical records and I needed to request them from the prior practice (37th and Madison). I had some questions about my records and she just hung up on me. When I called back she didn't answer so I left a voicemail saying that is not a good way to treat Dr. Saimovici's patients. I like the doctor but that was not a good experience at all.

Dr. Saimovici was a professional all around and he listened to all of my concerns thoroughly before responding with a level of expertise unmatched by any other ophthalmologist I have ever visited before. His staff was friendly and professional and I was in there for forty minutes at most. The wait time was great, maybe five to ten minutes and I was very pleased with the overall experience. Thank you Dr. Saimovici and thank you to all of the wonderful ladies who were there to assist me, truly the smoothest visit to any doctor that I can remember in a long time.

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Saimovici as a recommendation from my practitioner for a routine procedure. After a brief check up I was told standard practices which I had already received from my practitioner and referred to another Dr.
I'm now having to schedule an appointment with a third Dr. for something that should have been taken care of by Dr. Saimovici.

Bedside manner was non-existent. I found him to be cold, rude and unhelpful. I would not go back nor would I recommend. I went because it was a close and open appointment. Don't do it.

The room where I had to take out my contacts had a backed-up sink with brown water in it - not sanitary at all and unacceptable.
The doctor failed to inform the office assistant that I needed a follow up appointment.
The doctor's staff was not that professional and for a mid-town doctor's office I would expect much better.

He was proficient, and thorough. I didn't feel that his bedside manner was what it could have been - meaning, I've been several other places for medical care (even opthalmologic care) and felt valued as a consumer who made a choice. At Dr. Saimovici, I didn't get that impression, either from the technicians, or Dr. Saimovici himself. Truthfully, unless I have to go back, I won't. I'll wait until my next move to find a new ophthalmologist.

I am leaving this review after seeing Dr.Saimovici, note from our appointment but from my experience post-appointment. I have moved and asked for their office send over my prescription so that I could purchase a new pair of eyeglasses from a place in Boston. I put in a phone call 4 different times, spoke to 4 different people each who said they would have this done that day. It still hasn't happened! Dr.Saimovici, is rarely in the Manhattan office and from this experience I will never return because his office staff are rude and un-efficient.
