Hi, I am a medical doctor with a specialty in Adult Psychiatry with a sub-specialty in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I am also a psychoanalyst and pursuing a post-doctoral fellowship in Psychodynamic Psychoanalysis at the Psychoanalytic Institute at Columbia University. I am also a Public Psychiatry Fellow at Columbia University. My training has enabled me to have expertise in psychopharmacology and also patient centered care with focus on primary psychiatric diagnosis and personality disorders.
My passion is helping people to restore their lives. Since I am also a child and adolescent psychiatrist I am especially sensitive to understanding the dynamics and progression of mental health into adulthood. I treat many psychiatric disorders and provide psychotherapy. I provide initial psychiatric consultations and follow up sessions might include medication management or psychotherapy. I am also fluent in Spanish and accept all major insurances. If no insurance I do an initial consultation and for follow up sessions I will consider a sliding fee if necessary.
I treat mood and affective disorders including bipolar disorder, cyclothymia, rapid cycling, mixed episodes, depression (unipolar, dysthymia, seasonal, major depressive, recurrent episodes), schizophrenia, psychotic episodes, generalized anxiety disorders, panic disorder, OCD, body dysmorphic disorder, somatization disorder, hypochondriasis, eating disorder, child hood disorders, ADHD, ADD, ODD, and a variety of personality disorders.
Now treating patients for office based opiate use disorder with suboxone/buprenorphine.
