My name is Lori Middleton and I've been a Registered Dietitian (RD) for 9 years. I started my career in a WIC office, providing nutrition and breastfeeding counseling to families. It was here that I found a secondary passion for lactation and soon earned my certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I love working with women to help them meet their nutrition goals during pregnancy and the post partum period while breastfeeding. I also enjoy assisting women get back to a healthy weight after pregnancy. After 7 years at WIC, my family moved to another state and I decided to take my career in another direction as a clinical and outpatient RD. I currently provide care to patients in the hospital setting as well as outpatient setting. In the outpatient setting, I provide medical nutrition therapy for a variety of conditions, to include diabetes, gastrointestinal conditions, hypertension and cancer, as well as those wishing to lose weight. As someone who personally was diagnosed with celiac disease 2 decades ago, I have a wealth of knowledge in this area and would love to help anyone struggling with eating gluten free. I also have experience working with pediatrics and enjoy sitting down with families to develop a healthy relationship with food that can last a lifetime. I love walking alongside people to help them meet their nutrition and health goals and hope to work with you as well! I'm blessed to have a great husband, 6 year old son, 2 dogs and 1 cat. In our free time, we enjoy going for family walks and bike rides, playing board games with friends and being outdoors in the Florida sunshine.
