Thank you for your interest in my practice, and congratulations for considering psychotherapy, one of the most effective treatments in all of health care. Psychotherapy is known to help people who have trouble in relationships, with mood and anxiety, and with problem behaviors.
I have substantial experience in helping people whose relationships aren't going well or whose moods, problem behaviors, fears, griefs or other painful emotions get in their way. I have successfully collaborated with many people whose emotional swings are associated with such harmful behaviors as anger outbursts, eating problems or self-injury. I have worked extensively with individuals who use alcohol or other drugs in problematic ways, sometimes without realizing it; therapy has often led these individuals to healthy changes.
I believe it is more important to know the person who has a problem than to know which problem the person has. You are like all other people, like some other people and like no one else. I think of psychotherapy as an opportunity to sort out those unique and shared feelings and experiences so that people might live happier lives.
