At Eye Luv Lucy, we believe that seeing clearly is essential. That's a given, and we have the professional qualifications to make sure you walk out of our office seeing clearly. What we also believe (and what doesn't seem to occur to most of the other frames shops in San Jose) is that how you feel about wearing your glasses is just as important as the simple function of the glasses. Frames should reflect your personality, enhance your body image, and project an aura of confidence to all those you meet. That belief is what drives us, and what inspired our founder so many years ago.
Please note that we do not accept Medi-Cal insurance. Our eye care practice accepts major medical and vision insurances. However, there are still a number of eye care insurance plans that do not offer direct billing options. If this is the case with your insurance, we will provide you reimbursement forms and receipts to ensure that you are able to bill both your primary and secondary insurance plan, plus retain a copy for your records. Our clinic also accepts HSA and FSA to help with deductible expenses in eye care services and eyewear products. Furthermore, CareCredit options in healthcare financing are available for specialty eyecare devices and services.

Went here for my regular eye check up. They were super friendly and took the time to explain every step they were taking. They were also happy to answer any and all questions I had. There was almost no wait time, and they were willing to test my friend without an appointment (who was just accompanying me). I'd definitely go here again!

Dr. Yen was such a joy to work with. Edward welcomed me right away and go me started without a wait. Payment was made clear and the exam was professional. I got sample contacts to try out while I decide on whether I want to use them primarily which was nice. Excellent service overall!!! Be wary of parking though. I called the office and they were able to help with that.

I love Eye Love Lucy. First time patient but now I will be coming back for sure. The most thorough eye exam I've ever had. I could tell she wanted to help me and it was perfect. One of the best collection of frames I've ever seen. I grew up in Boston and I thought I knew what was cool in independent frames. I will check every 3-6 months on what's new at her boutique. Overall, very good experience.
First, parking is easy to find in the back of the store. Street parking in Willow Glen can be hard to find.
Second, Dr. Yen has the latest technology in her office. I was put on several super-high tech machines the likes of which I had not seen in other offices.
This eye exam was enormously useful to me. She invalidated a previous diagnosis of glaucoma, which was made using the 'puff' test, which she explained was NOT accurate. She used that machine that actually touches you eye and gives a much more accurate reading.
So, I dont have glaucoma!! Yay!

Dr. Yen is a competent doctor, however, she needs to manage her office and probably change the policy and her assistant. Her assistant was not polite and professional. She said, she will make an appointment for another test on my eyes because on that day she couldn't do it and never did that although I paid more in addition to my copayment.
Also, for the glasses, her assistant tried to convince me of purchasing a new frame which is unnecessary and when I gave my glasses for upgrading she said, it will take 14 days and you need to purchase. I have not got my eyeglasses after 25 days and I purchased one from Barnes and Nobles for almost free! She made a huge bill for me just because my insurance could pay for the eyeglasses. I think this behavior is not acceptable for a doctor's office. They gave me the feeling of an office just for making money and not caring about the patient and to bill the insurance company. Quite unprofessional! The first target of a doctor is to treat the patient and offer the bests and know that they are not a traders or merchants.

I have come to Dr. Lucy Yen for over 4 years and I must say she has been the most meticulous and caring eye Doctor in my life. I have had a serious retinal detachment in my history that caused me extreme agony as I feared I would go blind and because of that incident, I took tremendous caution with my eyes and seek out the best eye care doctor there is in my area. Dr. Yen is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Eyecare and she gave me the most precise vision possible through her prescribed eyeglasses and contact lenses which are the best quality with light weigh (my lenses are very strong otherwise), shatter resistant and best glare resistant treatment possible. I really have no complaints. You just have to see it to believe it.

I am a new patient, looking for a new optometrist because I've moved cities. I'm honestly very surprised that Dr. Yen has such high ratings. The office is nice and the receptionist and Dr. Yen are friendly. I appreciate that Dr. Yen is friendly and enthusiastic. However, I felt extremely uncomfortable with her the entire time. She is very unorganized and scattered- she would mumble things like, "where did I put that?" "what was I saying?" "I'm not sure but in my humble opinion" "OOPS" "OH SHOOT" all while handling my contacts, putting things into my records, and examining my eyes. She couldn't answer any of my questions directly- she would go on tangents about things I hadn't asked her about- random eye care information that didn't pertain to me. At one point she said something like, "well at places like Costco I know they don't tell patients anything like this so it's good that you're here now." I have never gotten my eyes checked at Costco. She did not ask. I've had excellent eye care before.
Dr. Yen also seemed extremely rushed, she was squatting while examining my eyes instead of sitting in her chair, said she would finish entering my information into the computer "later," and ran around looking for a calculator. The office couldn't give me a line item receipt because "it wasn't in the computer yet." I'm honestly a little concerned she might have given me the wrong prescription because at one point she said, "yeah I mean whatever. Not perfect but 20/20 or 20/25. It's fine." She also changed the information she gave me regarding payment several times.
It felt like she was a pushy very talkative salesperson, even though she wasn't really selling anything to me.
Perhaps it was an off day, but I certainly will not be returning or recommending her to any of my family/friends.

Dr. Yen is very thorough. She spent over 1 hour to take care of my red eye and gave me the most customized service. She is extremely conscientious about not missing any potential problems although it looks like I only have a red eye that's a easy fix. Until she told me, I didn't know I could have been affected by glaucoma as it is one of its symptoms. She left nothing to chance so I could leave happy and assured. Her treatment was on target and my problem resolved almost overnight. I will recommend everyone I know to her and she is the best eye doctor in town. No doubt.

I have come to Dr. Yen's office as highly recommended by my colleague at work. I was out of contact lenses and need new glasses and I just decided to give it a try. Everything from start to finish was all positive. I was greeted right away and didn't wait too long to be serviced. I am giving some options on my contacts which I never knew of, including one day contacts that now I know are safer to wear and with my busy schedule, I love the fact I don't have to clean them at all. I also got to pick out some fantastic frames which are German made and I will definitely come back for my sunglasses later as they have some very unique brands that are not seen everywhere else.

She was so very personable and caring. She gave me way more information and knowledge in eye health than I ever learned from anyone else before. She can seem too hyper and excitable but that might be a sign of passion toward what she does for living. She definitely explains a very difficult to understand medical condition extremely well, so a person like myself could even understand. Usually I hate going to the doctors, but with Dr. Yen, I don't have that type of reservation as I feel that she can be a doctor and a friend at the same time.

I have been Dr. Yen's patient for the last 2 years and since I have a very delicate situation with my eye (had a major retinal surgery in the past), that I always seek out the best care for my eyes. Dr. Yen is one of the best eye doctors in town as she is not only knowledgeable in her trade but she is also very personable and explained all the procedures and tests very thoroughly to ensure that nothing gets overlooked. She is very generous with her time and even told me to start talking with my family doctor again about getting back on my high blood pressure medication as she saw signs of health changes that could impact me. Dr. Yen's service has become instrumental in my life so I am going to be seeing her for a long time and I encourage others do the same if they really want the best for themselves in vision care.

Good diagnosis using the computerized equipments. But much commercialized perspective to cell services. and expensive stuffs without much help. Like for me suggesting anti glare with blue coating which is lesser effective for my long hours of computer exposure. WRONG! Green coating is much superior. Just coz some1 is marketing their coating technology as superior, handing over a pamphlet does not help! People will research about it! Tooooooo expensive place!
The details from Zocdoc does not help, dont waste your time online, this doctors office is not ready yet!!!!!!!

Very nice and friendly staff. Their frames selection is somewhat limited so they only have the top tier, designer frames. However, if you ask for your prescription, they will respond almost right away so you have the option to purchase your glasses or contacts elsewhere, which is nice. Doctor Yen is very smart and informative about all of the products and services she offers.

She gave me expired medication, which seems really irresponsible and potentially really dangerous. When I called after the appointment to let her know, the office staff had a lot of difficulty listening to my concerns and seemed preoccupied with getting me off the phone. Luckily, when I spoke with Dr. Yen herself, she sent a prescription over to my pharmacy right away, but I don't think I'll be returning to the office.

From the second I walked in I was greeted by Janely. She hand me some paperwork to fill and assisted me on some questions. Dr Yen was very professional and explained every step. Oh by the way, the frame selection is amazing. Great quality frames and unique looks. Definitely not the cookie cutter offices that you are used to. Will be back next year or hopefully sooner for sunglasses.
