First off I would like to say that I did not see Dr. Navazo however I did meet him and found him to be very kind, humorous and professional. I did see the lovely lady doctor there but I cannot remember her name >< grr. But she is the only woman doctor there. It was my first time there, I was looking for a new doctor-that being the reason I had to wait a bit longer, my insurance had to be cleared-.I have to say, everyone there, the doctors ( I think theres three total), the nurses, all wonderful. I was even impressed with the waiting room-actual magazines to read and brochures galore. I went to my old doctor only once and the experience was: NO eye contact, wouldn't answer my questions, no blood pressure was taken, no heart rate-nothing. The nurses were not very professional. Even without this comparison I would still find Dr. Navazo's practice wonderful.

Dr. Navazo strives to maintain a close attention to detail with every patient he meets and to help them maintain optimum health. He is known among his patients as personable and friendly.
Dr. Navazo is a certified wound care specialist, and is dedicated to helping injured patients regain functionality. He is an American Professional Wound Care Association Certified Wound Specialist (FAPWCA) Fellow, and an American Academy of Wound Management Certified Wound Specialist (FACCWS) Fellow. He also serves as a medical legal consultant, a role in which he offers expert advice on doctor competency and wound care issues.
After a stint on the east coast for a Bachelors of Science in biology, Dr. Navazo began his career in medicine in southern California. He then completed two residencies in surgery at UC Davis and at UC San Francisco. His current roles include work as Certified Medical Director (CMD), at both Apreva Hospice in San Diego and at Casa De Oro Adult Day Program in Spring Valley. Dr. Navazo stays involved in his field through professional organizations like the American Medical Directors Association, and the San Diego County Medical Society. He also has a strong research background, including studies on opioid use and dependence among patients with chronic and severe pain.
In his spare time, Dr. Navazo loves to volunteer, and he has served as a Medical Reserve Corps Disaster Service Worker (DSW) for the County of San Diego. Dr. Navazo is happy to see patients in both English and Spanish.
