Dr. Matthews was born and raised in Yonkers, New York and has been living in Phoenix, Arizona for the last 4 years. He spent the last 4 years working as a Primary Care Physician with a corporate style based practice but realized with the ever-changing face of medicine that he was looking for more autonomy and an individualized style of practice. He believes the approach that is taken by the 4C medical group will further enhance his growth as a physician but also seeking that ideal work-life balance.
As a sports enthusiast he enjoys treating various musculoskeletal related conditions through teaching proper exercising techniques, recommending physical therapy or even procedural based therapies. He also has a special interest in preventative medicine and treating chronic medical conditions such as Diabetes, obesity, Hypertension, and Congestive Heart failure, which are unfortunately becoming more of a widespread issue here in the United States.
When he decided that he wanted to become a Family Practice Physician it was due to the fact that he am able to utilize all of the things that he has learned from day one of medical school and throughout his training which helps in being able to recognize and treat various age groups of patients and a broad spectrum of diseases.
In his spare time he enjoys going to the gym, hiking the Phoenix Trails, spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, traveling and rooting for the New York and Arizona sports teams.
