I remain deeply committed to staying current on the latest research in pulmonary medicine to ensure that my patients receive optimal and innovative care that is tailored to their individual needs. Practicing medicine has brought me tremendous joy and fulfillment over many years, and this is reflected in the care I provide. Dr. Bloom is a native Houstonian who graduated magna cum laude from Princeton and received his MD from Stanford. He completed residency and fellowship at Baylor where for years he remained on the full time faculty. He’s been active in medical ethics, in the hospital’s transition to electronic medical records and the Pharmacy Committee at Houston Methodist. He has served on the Medical Executive Board at Methodist Hospital, as president of the medical staff at Kindred Hospital and as clinical chief of the pulmonary section at Houston Methodist. He was in private practice of pulmonary medicine at Methodist for 35 years before joining the Houston Methodist Academic Medicine Associates.
