Mara C. Weinstein Velez, M.D., FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist who completed a prestigious Laser, Cosmetic and Dermatologic Surgery fellowship at SkinCare Physicians in Boston, with clinical faculty from the Harvard and Yale Departments of Dermatology. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University. She went on to receive her medical degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, OH. Dr. Weinstein completed her internship and dermatology residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Weinstein has been invited to present at national professional meetings, published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored chapters in dermatologic textbooks including Surgery of the Skin, Treatment of Traumatic and Burn Scars and Procedures in Cosmetic Dermatology. She remains active in research and has participated in research trials for state-of-the-art laser devices and minimally invasive cosmetic treatments.
Dr. Weinstein has received numerous awards and achievements, including the Excellence in Teaching Award, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the Women’s Dermatology Society (WDS) Mentorship Award, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) Preceptorship Award. She is a member of the WDS Academic and Service committees and the American Academy of Dermatology Public Education committee. Outside of work hours, Dr. Weinstein enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 small children, exercising and traveling.

Extremely rushed and didn’t feel thorough. It felt like my treatment was generic for anyone with acne walking through the door and my specific concerns were not addressed. The treatment regimen was very quickly and briefly explained and I? felt rushed out the door. The receptionists were also very gossipy and were talking poorly about their coworkers in front of customers.

Dr. Weinstein understands how to treat skin of women of color. I highly recommend her. She removed a large mole from my forehead. There are no visible scars. Just amazing.

I went for a routine check, The visit went well, I liked the doctor. However I was seen about 55 minutes after the planned time, I found ironic on how I was requested 4 times to confirm my appointment as well as emailed 2 times about the cancellation fee. That would have been nice if the same system could have been put to use to notify me about the doctor running behind schedule, so I don't have to take a 2 hour lunch break.

Very good appointment the doctor was very personable and knowledgeable. I did not feel rushed and I felt like all of my concerns were addressed in a calm and professional manner. Highly recommend will come back again. Will want her as my primary dermatologist for all concerns going forward.

Dr. Weinstein is one of the best healthcare professionals I have ever seen! She is extremely educated and gets me an answer to any question I have and is never in a rush or on auto pilot during our visits which is so important to me.
If you're looking for a knowledgable dermatologist with great bedside manner, kindness, and understanding - I highly recommend Dr. Weinstein. I don't ever want to go to anyone else!
