Dr. Friedman did a knee replacement about 6 or 7 years ago on one of my best friends. I was recommended to Dr. Friedman by my friend about 4 years ago when I was having a left knee problem. My circle of friends have recommended Dr. Friedman over the years for many procedures. Everyone was happy with the results.

It was professional. He was brief and to the point. He listened to my history. Overall, I like him.
I like zocdoc 's capability of making your own appointment, except when they called me to confirm, they tried to change the time to a later date. I had to insist. They should not say that computer appointment is usually not accurate.
I will try to use zocdoc again if the appointment schedule is exactly as indicated.

Dr. Friedman is a graduate of Princeton University and Cornell University Medical School.
He completed his orthopedic residency training at UCLA and spent a year at Lenox-Hill Hospital in New York City as a Sports Medicine Fellow. At the time he had primary responsibility for the New York Jets football and New York Knicks basketball teams. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedics at UCLA.
Dr. Friedman has organized the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons annual instructional Course on treatment of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries from 1992-1996. Also, Dr. Friedman was the Sports Medicine Fellowship Director at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute. He is chairman of the Education Committee of the Arthroscopy Association of North America 1997-1999.
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a Fellow in the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the International Knee Society and the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Friedman served as a Physician Specialist for the 1994 Olympic Games for soccer. He has published numerous sports medicine articles, co-edited the book, Prosthetic Ligament Reconstruction of the Knee, and lectures extensively both nationally and internationally, including live surgical demonstrations in Europe. He is presently involved in a multi center FDA Study of a meniscal replacement technique.
He is a Qualified Medical Examiner (Q.M.E.) for the State of California Industrial Medical Council Department of Industrial Relations.
Outside interests include his family, jogging, tennis, golf, skiing, travel and wine. Marc J. Friedman, M.D. is available to see patients at the Van Nuys and Valencia offices.

the wait was too long - 60 minutes from arrival to get into a room and then another 10 minutes for the dr. he is very quick and matter of fact and focused on what he wanted to talk about and was stunned that I had questions. he said at one point "you will never run again". really? do you think that is what I wanted to hear? I went to see him for a solution!

no waiting, did the x rays right away waited in doctors room for 3 minutes he came in looked at x rays explained everything very clearly i asked him a bunch of questions, answered them all. he seems to be a right to the point doctor with no small talk which i like!
