I received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where I majored in the Biological Basis of Behavior and competed on the Men's Varsity Swimming Team. After graduating and prior to medical school, I became a private high school science teacher. I completed my Psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC, where I was selected as Chief Resident. During that time, I also completed a Psychodynamic Fellowship at New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. I then completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health with a focus on Depression and Anxiety.
My practice specializes in the treatment and management of depression, anxiety disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. My research at Mount Sinai and at the National Institute of Mental Health was in the biological and clinical heterogeneity of depression.
I follow a basic tenet that the brain and mind are complex and ever-changing worlds. Therefore, in order to help patients reach beyond their challenges and modify their circumstances, I utilize an integrative approach from a broad array of clinical skills and strategies.
