Dr. Pikus was the best doc I've ever had! She was so sweet, helpful and made sure I felt comfortable. I also met with Doc. Wietschner for a bit and he was great as well. The office was also the best I've seen.

Dr. Wietschner was in practice in Queens Village for over 15 years before recently relocating to larger state of the art facility in Floral Park. Marc E. Wietschner, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been providing personalized comprehensive ophthalmology care to patients both young and old in Queens and Nassau Counties for over 17 years.
Dr. Wietschner graduated from the prestigious Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY, with honors in research, in 1990. He then completed a rigorous ophthalmology residency in SUNY Downstate Medicine Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Wietschner continued with subspecialty retina fellowship training at the same institution, focusing on the treatment of diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. Dr. Wietschner has been in private practice since graduating and maintains teaching and medical privileges at local hospitals.
As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Wietschner has extensive experience in treating patients with multiple eye conditions including: dry-eye syndrome, blepharitis, corneal disease, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal/macular/vitreous degeneration, as well as eye complications arising from medical conditions.
To serve his patients better, Dr. Wietschner is involved in residency training, regularly attends opthalmology meetings, and keeps abreast of the latest opthalmology literature. Dr. Wietschner is also strongly committed to utilizing the safest, least invasive, and predictable microsurgical techniques for cataract surgery. He also offers toric and multifocal lens implants to decrease dependence on glasses following cataract surgery.

Really great experience - made an appointment same day and still got seen, office is beautiful, staff is pleasant and Dr.Wietschner is very professional. Only complaint is the wait time, a little too long even for a same day appointment, but understandable if he's taking time with each patient.

Although I did not see Marc Wietschner, MD personally his assistant was very professional. But Marc Wietschner, MD is actually a extremely professional doctor if you are willing for the wait, both with appointment schedule wait at least a few weeks, and wait in the waiting room.

Dr. Wietschner is great, I had to wait a little bit since I was a last minute appointment. His staff was able to get me appointment right away. His office is very clean and his assistant was able to examine me before the doctor. Everyone was very professional.

He listens well, explains well. He did my two cataract surgeries, painlessly, successfully.
If he arrives at a waiting patient late, we all know it is because he does not hurry with any patient. He will not leave a patient until he is sure that you understand what has happened and what you are to do.
His support staff also has been selected thoughtfully and trained well. And you see that they like their jobs.
