Dr. Modiano is an amazing doctor. After many years of searching for someone to help me, Dr. Modiano was the answer to my prayers. He helped me tremendously, and my depression has been under control since he began working with me. He really cares about his patients. Highly recommend!

Dr. Modiano’s practice focuses on medication management, supportive and psychodynamic psychotherapy in 30 to 45- minute follow-up visits. Treatment is focused on helping patients achieve their best selves with an empathetic and supportive approach.
He received his medical degree from the Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City before moving to Chicago, IL where he trained as a general psychiatrist. After completing his residency at Rush University Medical Center, he pursued training and certification in Addiction Medicine through the American Board of Addiction Medicine and later on through the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He became the medical director for the impaired professionals substance use program at AMITA-behavioral health in Chicago and later on transitioned as the medical director at Hazelden Betty Ford in their Chicago location.
In addition to general psychiatry, Dr. Modiano is board-certified in Addiction Medicine.

The Doctor & I did not gel. He didn’t make it easy as I felt very judged from the beginning. At one point he made a joke at my issue. I didn’t laugh. I picked him on ratings alone and it was a mistake. Waste of time. I made it clear to the doctor I had all my medical records from previous healthcare professionals over the years but I could tell he had no interest In helping me. He was super difficult, awkward and the worst Dr I’ve seen in 20 years. He didn’t follow up or do what he said in regards to sending a routine email. Stay away.

If you're looking to get straight to the point with your concerns, or even to take time to combat every individual concern respectively over time, I highly recommend you getting this appointment. I felt heard, understood, and learned more about myself from being allowed a space to speak, as well as feeling safe from judgement. I am anxious in most medical situations and fear being misunderstood, but I was given opportunities to elaborate, explain my thought process, feelings, etc., all without being rushed or forced to change subject. All of my anxious reactions were also met with a calm tone, expression, and environment, so I never felt triggered and had the right environment for my anxiety to relax or flare comfortably. 10/10 Super worth the initial visit, would even recommend following up to catch concerns you might've missed or for furthering your healing journey.
