Marealita Pierce, M.D. a native Chicagoan, completed her undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She is a 1994 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, an affiliate of Medical College of Wisconsin.
She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Pierce began her pediatric career at Carle Clinic in Danville, Illinois and returned home to Chicago in 1999.
Dr. Pierce was an attending physician in general pediatrics for seven years at the University of Chicago where she taught medical students and pediatric residents. She was a member of the multi-disciplinary Craniofacial-Cleft Palate team for three years while at the University of Chicago, and also served as a student interviewer and member of the admissions committee of the Pritzker School of Medicine. In addition, she provided general pediatric health care to children at Friend Family Health Center.
She has volunteered as a Principal for a Day at the Chicago Public Schools and served as an invited speaker for the annual Preparing for Adolescence Seminar (for pre-teen girls and their mothers) at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Pierce enjoys speaking and participating in community events, such as the Tot Talk and the Health Fairs at St. Thomas the Apostle School, and the African American History Fair at Murray Language Academy.

Dr. Pierce has been our family pediatrician for many years as the physician for several of my grandchildren. The first ones who are in their 20's first saw her when they were approximately seven and eight years old. She has been seeing my granddaughter who is now my 12 years old since she was 17 months. Dr. Pierce is caring, attentive, and thorough in her exams. She is patient in listening and will make your child feel comfortable and at ease during the visit. She enjoys talking with them, and the children sense her love and interest for them and they warm up to her immediately. Dr. Pierce is a fine example of how a pediatrician should handle and care for young patients. Her medical knowledge and expertise is outstanding. She is available and willing to provide service to her patients whenever the need arises.

Dr Pierce has been my daughter's physician since birth (6 weeks premature) and I can't imagine any physician being more attentive, gentle, knowledgeable and caring. Her bedside manner with babies is amazing - knows just how to handle them, distract them, hold their attention to make am appt go smoothly. She doesn't hesitate to say if she's unsure about something and quickly does a thorough job researching the answer of an uncertain question rather than casting aside any concerns you have. She gives ample time for each visit - I've never felt rushed and she's always answered every one of my questions. My favorite thing about her is that she's very chill and realistic, but if you have concerns as a parent, she's always there to validate them or recommend a specialist, if needed, to put your fears to rest. She's literally my favorite doctor, and wish I could find someone as great as her to be my own doc.
