My experience with Dr. Walczyk everytime is nothing but outstanding. He listens and really wants to deal with the issues.
He was busier than usual, but he was still very courteous, collected, and quick. A new receptionist, and at first, she seemed a little out of sorts, unsure of where things were, handed the doctor someone else's chart instead of mine, but by the end of my appointment, she actually corrected a few insurance matters (from about 2 months ago) that the former/other receptionist had been uncertain about and left pending, so I was very, very pleased and relieved by her helpful and prompt competence. Continues to be a commendable practice--my only complaint would be they can not call in prescriptions or write several months at once, so I have to return each month for a copay visit just to have him write another prescription, which they led me to believe was illegal but my girlfriend's psychiatrist in Uptown does that for her. Not sure if that's my a fault on my end, however, as my mind boggles at insurance. Will be figured out in due time though.

He was very kind and courteous. I would definitely recommend him to another person
I felt very comfortable talking with the Doctor. I would refer family or friends.
It went very well. I would recommend him to somebody looking for a psychiatrist.

I didn't think he was personable enough or listened to my problems exactly.

Always enlightening. Always helpful. Always future-forward.
He was easy to talk too, and understood how I was feeling
He is very insightful , intelligent and compassionate
I thought it was a great match but the office stopped taking my calls while I was under their care and prescription for no reason at all. I believe this is negligence. Would no longer recommend.

The reception could use, well, a receptionist. I've been coming monthly for treatment since December last year. Because I come in after work, I sometimes run a few minutes late, you know--5 to 15 minutes or so, depending on the train delays during rush hour. Each time it seems I run late, I call to warn them, but every single time I have ever tried to call this office--even to ask questions about the appointment process before my first visit--no one answers the phone! It rings and rings, until I leave a voicemail, but no one has ever called me back either! The thing is, though--the receptionist is always right there, bored and sitting by the phone when I do arrive!! What is she doing this whole time?! Is the phone number listed on this site simply wrong? Is there a better (and by better, I mean, a phone that connects to this office) number to reach them? Or does she simply not wish to be reached?! Absurd. Similarly, Dr. Walczyk, who is normally quite the note-taking caregiver (I really quite like him--he seems to truly care and want what is best for you), was really off this last visit. He couldn't remember what prescription I was taking, even after flipping through my chart (and he normally remembers such without any reminders). He couldn't remember the brand of prescription or the dosage, which was alarming. Perhaps he is overworked--probably from having to both be the doctor and the receptionist (lol). I still recommend him to my friends, though I do warn them to never call!
He seems to genuinely care about my well-being. I always thank him with a hand shake afterwards, because I feel like he is really trying to do what is best for me. We've tried out a few medications, and with each one, we heard my concerns, made eye contact with me and was clearly listening to me (a problem I've had with other doctors), made notes as I spoke, and talked me through everything to make sure I was comfortable with his suggestions. When the medications were a bit too much for my budget, he either substituted them for generics or gave me a coupon to test it. I really feel cared for both by the doctor and even the receptionist, who guarded my phone at the desk as it charged. Some of the reviews seem to mistake him for a psychologist, instead of a psychiatrist, the latter of which is specifically for pharmaceutical help, when you know therapy isn't enough at the moment. In this regard, he is perfect--immensely knowledgeable about the medicine and in an office with a psychologist, if you do prefer to try talking it out first. Head's up: his handwriting can be difficult to read, but the receptionist can decipher it if you'd like to write it down for your own records, and my Walgreens help has never had an issue reading it. I've never had a better doctor experience, and I've never felt more "normal" in my life. I truly owe this man quite a bit for his help and am eternally grateful!
He really seemed to listen. He had multiple plans for treatment, and we are testing the first one out now. It's not quite working for me, so I will re-review once I see how he handles my second appointment. I really liked him though. He took notes and seemed to know what he was talking about, asking questions to specify my issues.
Dr. Walczyk is a wonderful doctor. Attentive and knowledgeable in the latest research and therapies. Always answers any of my questions and I have never felt rushed in his office.
I am thankful for Dr. Walczyk's professional, thoughtful, and compassionate consideration of my needs. I would recommend him and his kind staff to anyone I know seeking treatment, they have a great amount of experience to share.
Not what I expected
He was extremely rude, inconsiderate of facts in black and white. He didn't listen to me or my history. I left his office in tears twice. Obsessed with latuda and only latuda. His rude almost insulting attitude made me feel afraid to see another doctor because I don't want to feel belittled like that again.
Always amazing
Amazing, as always
Very professional and helpful
Always very helpful and understanding
Excellent physician. He listens to issues and offers helpful recommendations, which doesn't always mean prescriptions. He recommended Melatonin for sleep which turned out to be the most helpful thing I have ever taken for sleep. Melatonin is available everywhere over the counter!!!
Good doctor, listens and is very helpful
He was quick and to the point. He didn't rush me though. He compromised with me on some appointment issues. He saved me a little with samples and coupons.
Very professional
Dr Walczyk is always very patting and courteous.
He was very kind respectful and efficient. He was understanding about my treatments in the past for a chronic illness I have. He gave suggestions and explained new treatments that could help me besides medication. I reccomend him highly.
Very understanding Dr.
He did a good job. Got to the point, asked the right questions, actually listened. Took his time and explained everything very well.
He definitely listens carefully to all your concerns and troubles. He makes his notes accordingly and provides his feedback. He is very thorough in his diagnosis and recommendations. He recommends and prescribes appropriate medication.
Great doctor. Very helpful for my condition
Would definitely recommend Dr. Walczyk to anybody. He always asks how things are going and remembers things we talked about in our previous session no matter how much time has passed. I like that because other doctors sometimes have too many patients to remember specifics about each one. I rarely ever have to wait when I get there, and if I do I've never waited longer than 10 min. Overall, he's great! And the receptionist is very nice too.
It's good and professional
Very professional and too the point. I was visiting him after a lapse in my medication due to my old doctor moving away. I knew exactly what I needed and asked for my medication. After asking me some questions about my symptoms he filled the prescription for me. Front desk staff was very friendly.
Very bad experience. Avoid, if you can.
The staff was very polite and Dr. Walczyk was extremely kind, helpful, and understanding of my situation. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of his services!!
He could hardly contain his loathing and almost burst at the end. I honest and sincerely wouldn't let him treat an animal let alone a human being. Psychiatrist's will only gain empathy when we make them starve. I'm done with psychiatry, it helped me in the past but failed me at his office. He has disavowed his Hippocratic oath.
