Margarita Cardenas graduated from University Pontificia Bolivariana where she received her Doctor in Medicine degree and specialized in Comprehensive Ophthalmology. She completed a Postdoctoral research Fellow in Ophthalmology at the University of Oklahoma Dean McGee Eye institute and is a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She also gained a Headache Fellowship from University of South Florida, and specialized in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
