The nurses and doctors were amazing! The wait was lengthy, which stinks when you have a sick child but is understandable when we were seen between appointments. This was our first visit here and my daughter loved it!

Dr. Maria Batlle is a pediatrician serving the Duluth and Greater Atlanta. As a devoted pediatrician, Dr. Batlle finds her patients to be the best part of her job. Since 1992, she has delivered the care her community needs as the owner and co-founder of Medlock Pediatrics.
Originally from Cuba, Dr. Batlle was raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she finished high school. She came to Georgia in 1982 for her undergraduate degree at Emory University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Batlle went on to earn her MD at Emory University, followed by a residency in Pediatrics at Emory University associated hospitals. Her relationship with the university has always been strong, and Dr. Batlle has gone on to hold a large number of positions in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University.
Currently, Dr. Batlle serves as a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics at Emory, a position she has held for the past 14 years. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Pediatrics Residency program at Emory. Not one to sit still, Dr. Batlle holds two active staff roles: one at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta hospitals, and the other at Gwinnett Medical Center of Lawrenceville. She has also served as Chief of Staff in Pediatrics for Gwinnett.
Dr. Batlle holds a number of board certifications, including from the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Pediatrics. She stays involved with her peers through membership in a number of professional associations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics (of which she is also a fellow), and the Greater Atlanta Pediatrics Society. Dr. Batlle’s research includes the Malaria Research Project for Emory University Genetics Department and The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta.

Dr Battle sees both of our children, my son since the day after he was born. She is just amazing. She is thoughtful, careful and respectful. My son has had a number of health problems in his nine months and she has been both highly attentive and effective in caring for him. Few things give a mother a greater sense of comfort than knowing that the Dr caring for their child truly cares. She has never ceased to surprise me with both the depth of her medical knowledge and her genuine concern for my kids well being. Always happy to answer as many questions as you may have, never makes you feel silly for asking. I cannot recommend her practice enough. Not to be forgotten are the excellent staff she has working in the office. Always a good experience.

This is our second visit with Dr Batlle. Every time the wait is extremely long. Our appointment was at 11:30, and we were seen about 12:15. This is consistent with the last time. Every time I sit there thinking "I'm never coming back here". But then when we finally get to see Dr Batlle, I couldn't be happier with the time she spends and the way she makes my young child more comfortable so that she can evaluate him. He always gets scared and she is always very patient, plays age appropriate games with him and gets him to open up without the need to hold him down. So you may have a long wait time, but you understand after the appointment when you are not at all rushed through.

Great doctor, my son has been going here since he was 4 months old! Very attentive and friendly! You don't feel like a number, the doctor and staff will sit and discuss whatever concerns you have at length, if needed. No rush, they are very helpful in this office! Love this doctor!

My wife and I l took our 2 year old in for his checkup. My wife arrived 5 minutes prior to appointment time and waited for 30 minutes before even being called back. Between the time we got to room the and Doctor finally came in, it was another 35 minutes. The Doctor and Nurse were very professional and knowledgeable when we finally got to see them but having to wait over an hour is not acceptable. We try to respect the Doctors time but they need to respect our time as well. I missed over 2 hours of work because the time management in the Doctors office was not so good. Please improve. We are trying to make a decision on whether we plan on staying with Dr. Battle which is sad since we did like her and our son was very comfortable around her.

Dr. Batlle was okay. Because I kind of liked her I booked another appointment for my son. But later I found out that this place has a lot of issues:
- The waiting time for my daughter (my very first appointment in this office) was more than an hour!
- The waiting area is dirty! Dirty spots are all over the carpet.
- The waiting area is always crowded with a lot of sick kids. There is no separate room for sick and well being kids.
- Customer service is awful (except one lady, who seats in the middle) ! Clerical staff knows nothing about their job. I was contacted by my son's school and notified that he is missing one shot. They will not be able to allow him to come to school unless that shot is taken. I went to my son's pediatrician and told to the lady in front office (she is hispanic and usually seats in check out area) that they missed one shot during the shot records transfer from TN form to GA form. And I showed to her both states forms so she can see the difference. She glanced and returned them to me saying: "he does not need any shots at this time". I know that. I was saying totally different things to her but she refused to understand me. I do not know what was the reason. Either she does not understand English well or she does not know why she is working there...
- Apparantly, the nurse who is responsible for shot records does not know anything about her job either. It took me almost 3 weeks to get update my son's shot records. She claimed that he need one more and she did not want to recognize that he had finished those shots. Then, when I disagreed with her and showed the web page with legal dates for that shot, proving that the dates he took those shots are legitimate, she went all angry and red and finally put her stamp on his shot records. I mean, why I, a mother with no any medical background, have to prove to a nurse the legality of shot records? Does not she know it by herself? Do I want to bring my kids to the place where "professionals" do not know what are they doing?
I immediately requested all paperwork for my both kids and withdrawn them from that office.
Dr. Batlle, if you want to make your patients happy and succeed in what you are doing, I would recommend you to change your front office staff and your nurse. Please, get more skillful personnel. There are no complaints to your professionalism. But, unfortunately, because of your unskilled staff I had to leave and find another doctor.
P.S. To have updated version of shot records, which usually takes minutes:
- I spent 3 weeks in waiting
- I called two times to get updates on the process
- I asked them to mail the updated form to me, which they did not at first. With my second request they mailed the same old version. (Are you kidding me?)
- I took unpaid time off from my job two times to drive there and get results.

I love Dr. Batlle and more importantly my son loves her to. I have a very active 2 year old. Dr. Batlle is always helpful and never flustered when seeing him. She will even take time to play a game here or there with him. Doctor heaven!!! For me I like to have the doctor take their time to explain what they are prescribing and treating for. She does that as opposed to some physcians who treat you and your kid like your simpletons who don't need any explaining to. All in all I love Dr. Batlle.

Our son Evan has been seeing her since he was a week old, for 13 years. She ALWAYS takes the time to answer questions and explain things. Allthe nieces and nephews have gone or are going to her. She is truly an exceptional doctor for your children. She always does what is best for them.

it was so good today and I didn't wait which is weird bec. I usually wait 20 or 30 minutes ) but I need to say that they didnt confirme the appointment till I called this morning at 9:30 ( means I received your email confirmation after I called my self to confirm ) and the front office over the phone had no idea that I already booked an appointment and she was asking if you want to come noon ?? so if I am another patient she would have given our appointment to another kid , right ? do they have access to see the booked appointment online ? I dont think so and its a great deal for me

Dr. Batlle is a wonderful doctor. She has been our pediatrician for about 20 yrs. I have never felt rushed during an appt. with her, especially for annual well checks. Dr. Batlle is knowledgable, caring, easy to talk to, genuinely interested in her patients, extremely patient and kind. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Dr. Benson is also great, and the staff is very friendly and competent as well. Maggie is also a very kind and dedicated nurse for the practice.
