Dr. Maria Husain was born in Chicago, Illinois moved to San Antonio after spending most of her life in Tampa, Florida. After completing training at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, she has enjoyed caring for patients and performing various ophthalmic procedures. Dr. Husain believes in presenting eye findings in an understandable manner, so patients can be their own best advocates.
In addition to publishing book chapters on many topics, she has also presented her research at academic meetings. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
