I was always a late bloomer and figured only after graduating from college, that perhaps I was called to serve as a doctor. It has always been a very special privilege to me, because I love take caring of people (especially children) and helping them feel better. It is my vocation, along with being a wife and mother, that brings meaning, happiness, and fulfillment to my life. I am a physician board certified both by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics.
I graduated from the pediatric residency program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York, then received a two year grant (a scholarship) in 1998 from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology to complete my fellowship training at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. I joined its faculty immediately upon graduation as assistant professor at the Department of Allergy and Immunology, and ranked in the 98th percentile among those who took the certification examinations of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology that same year.
I then lived in Winchester, Kentucky and provided pediatric and allergy-immunology care to Powell county and other surrounding medically under served areas. Time is precious to me and I love recharging with my family on weekends, music, ballet, and reading. My husband has taught me to enjoy biking, boating, and I am especially thankful that he and my daughter have taught me a deeper appreciation of the peace and beauty to be found in nature. I am also very grateful for the very wonderful and supportive friends I have had all through my life.

I very much appreciated how well everyone listened and took my symptoms seriously. They spoke to me and not just a computer. The doctor asked what I wanted and they took my weird insurance into account when deciding what my treatment plan would be. It was great.

She seemed a little flakey and I had to repeat my issues. Asked me if I was adopted because I don’t know what my family is allergic to. I obviously had a big problem but she acted like I am making it up and she wasn’t convincing me that she knows what she is doing.

She is very thorough in what she does, not one who just wants to rush through. You can tell she loves what she does, she is not looking at you as a number or dollars signs. I am a very complicated case due to a lot of health problems and she is still willing to take me on and we know that this process will take a little bit longer than your average patient. I have had 3 doctors in the past refuse to see me due to all that I have wrong. I left her office feeling cared about, feeling she will and wants to find answers to help me and she did test just to rule out the possibility of something I had as a child and outgrew, to only find out I have it back. I would highly recommend her to others and look forward to my continued care and treatment with her.

I love the doctor and the entire staff. I feel they are extremely polite, caring, and knowledgeable. They are prompt to answer any questions or address my concerns regarding Elijah's health. I would refer friends and family to this office. I was nervous and terrified about my son's asthma and allergies, but by the time the doctor and nursing staff finished explaining what to do and how to treat/prevent future attacks. I felt like a pro. I absolutely love the doctor and staff here.

Wonderful... Dr. Ermitano has helped my son greatly with his allergy and asthma. He is capable or participating in sports and doing other activities in which he wasn't able before. He has gained wt. and his overall health has improved. Staff is the most friendly, kind, and compassionate out of any doctors office I have been to.
