I was quite impressed with Dr. Loigman. He spent a long time with me at my initial consultation and took a thorough history. He truly seems to care about my treatment and well being. He thoroughly explains the medications he prescribes and is responsive, empathic, and brilliant. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a psychopharmacologist.

More about Dr. Mark Loigman, MD, MBA

I am a board-certified psychiatrist with over 10 years of experience in private practice. Although I specialize in psychopharmacology-the medication management of psychiatric disorders-I have a strong belief that it is important to treat the patient as a whole. I strive to spend extra time with each of my patients in order to get to know them well so that I can better understand the daily stressors that they face which may be contributing to their illness. My initial consultations generally last from one and a half to two hours and my follow-up sessions generally last 45 minutes to an hour (much longer than most psychiatrists spend with their patients). I also make myself available by phone outside of office sessions. I also believe that it is important for a psychiatrist to work together with therapists and other mental healthcare providers involved in my patients' care so I take the time to contact them and speak with them on a regular basis about my patients' progress and current issues that they are facing. I have a warm and empathic approach to the treatment of all of my patients and strive to achieve a collaborative relationship with each of them. I have significant experience in the treatment of all psychiatric disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and anxiety disorders including OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD and social phobia.

Dr. Loigman's expertise in medications is unquestionable but it's his human qualities that most recommend him. Generous in listening as well as providing constructive input. I've never left a session with that feeling of exasperation and wasted time that I've had with other psychiatrists. Good doctor. Good guy.
Dr Loigman was very thorough in his assessment; he asked a lot of questions to clearly get to the right the diagnosis. Dr. Loigman took time at the end to explain his diagnosis and treatment plan. He completely answered all my questions, and eased my worries. I feel confident in Dr. Loigman, and would highly recommend him.
