Dr. Mellinger has been seeing adults, adolescents and couples for psychotherapy for 30 years. He works actively to help people identify the conflicts and past issues that are keeping them from fulfilling themselves in happy lives. Dr. Mellinger would be glad to meet with you to discuss your particular needs.
Since completing training in 1995 at NYU Postdoctoral Progra, Dr. Mellinger has also been doing psychoanalysis with adults, and has been teaching and supervising psychoanalysis. Relational Psychoanalysis is a much more active and personally engaging process than the traditional one. He also works a lot with couples looking to alter ingrained patterns of conflict and frustration.
Dr. Mellinger has worked with fellow professionals, creative people, business people and first responders in individual and couple modalities.

For a first visit, it felt rushed. He gave me 30mins max with 15 mins to do admin work that should have already been done via zocdoc. Hopefully subsequent visits will be better, but I am not that optimistic.
