Dr Charles was great. However my future appointments keep getting cancelled and I don’t know why... the office phone number doesn’t work and I can’t get in contact with the receptionist

The doctor was very empathetic and understanding and did her best to explain what she could help me with and what next steps would be. She needs a better office though.

Weird that she has people pay copays in cash but does not state this prior to appointment. Long wait time to see the doctor.
Two hours late for appointment, with no apology or explaination- not returning.
Dr. Marlene Charles provided good clinical care for my condition.
Over two hours late without any word of explanation or apology.
Dr. Charles was more than two hours late to our appointment scheduled a month in advance. She didn't offer an explanation or an apology when she arrived; the first thing she asked me was what today's date was. When I went to check my phone to tell her, she very seriously told me that I needed to work on my memory, because I should know the date as a 25-year-old. She continued to ask me questions only to cut me off when I was in the middle of an answer with her own snap psychoanalysis, continuing to patronize me throughout the appointment and expressing no empathy whatsoever. Never in my life has a doctor made me feel as alone, helpless and miserable as Dr. Charles. I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone. Stay away.
I'm convinced these five star reviews are fake. This office was absolutely disgusting. I didn't even want to sit down it was so dirty. The psychiatrist is completely bizarre and hard to understand. I just 'yes'd' her to death so I could get the hell out of there. Cash only, even though it doesn't say that anywhere on the site. Oh, and they don't have a buzzer to enter the building and the phone number doesn't exist. This is officially the sketchiest "medical office" I've ever been in. STAY AWAY - should've listened to the real reviews that advised me the same.

I went in to see Dr. Charles and was asked by the secretary to take out money from an atm for the copay because they did not accept checks or credit cards. The secretary was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans and although he was friendly, he was not professional in his manner or his dress. His friend? was also sitting behind him at the secretary booth and playing on his phone the entire time. I had to leave the office and walk down the street to get cash for the copay. The office was dirty and resembled a DMV. Despite being the only one in the office, it took about forty minutes to see the doctor. Once I saw her I was given a dementia test (I am 27 years old) even though I protested. I had to do a drug test but I was not given a mental health assessment even though I came in for mental health issues. I knew what I needed and told the Dr my medical past. She wrote me a prescription, which was essentially all I needed from her. She was very kind and listened to me but I found that she kept asking me what day it was. She stressed the importance of remembering the date. It felt awkward and I couldn't wait to leave that office. Zocdoc reported that Dr. Charles was covered under my health insurance but about two months later I got a bill in the mail saying she was out-of-network. Will not go back. Already booked someone else.

Very Understanding and compassionate.
Doc was very straightforward in her evaluation at the best of her job requirements. Overall process was great , she was able to give an honest treatment according to her evaluation, and guidance of the next steps to take for the best mental treatment.
The actual office could definitely use a makeover. I waited over an hour for my appointment, but once I saw Dr. Charles I was very happy with the service.
Very attentive

Dr. Charles provides compassionate and excellent care. She took time to assess my clinical needs and provide appropriate care. Dr. Charles--I am grateful for your clinical expertise, knowledge, and care.
This was one of the worst patient care experiences I've ever had. I arrived 15 mins early to a dirty office. I use the restroom which is unsanitary and did not have basics like paper towels in it. The doctor did not arrive until 15 minutes after my appt time and did not see me until a full 30 mins after my appt time. There were no other patients there. Just a single receptionist. The actual appt was fine. She is a reasonably trained professional who is by the book. However, the office management and patient care execution was horrendous andI have become livid given I went to her to get a refill of my very common daily medications and she (I'm assuming accidentally) did not prescribe me 1 refill as we discussed, but she prescribed me 1 single pill. It's definitely incompetent and it could be dangerous given I explained I was running low on meds. Going to her was an utter waste of time. I now need to find a different doctor to refill my prescriptions with.

Very straightforward and knowledgeable.
Dr. Charles was helpful, kind, patient and well informed. She made me feel instantly better with her calming demeanor and was quickly able to help me work towards resolving my issue. The office is no frills, which is fine! If you're looking for a fancy waiting room with potted plants and a view of the Manhattan skyline, go elsewhere. If you're looking for a competent, trustworthy psychiatrist who will help you with your issue without pushing any kind of medication or agenda, I'd highly recommend Dr. Charles. Two thumbs up!
Kind and professional. Extremely helpful for listeningto me completely as well as making great suggestions for my mental health. The only doctor in my network that actually came through for me. Thank you Dr. Charles.
Dr. Charles was friendly and knowledgeable. However I was unimpressed by the facility in which she operates. The secretary was sporadically present, the floors were stained and dirty, and patients were roaming the halls and yelling during our session together.
