I didn’t fill welcomed to her office
Excellent family physician!
I think the staff and the Dr. Richards have good hearts and love thier patients. However, they definitely have an older patient base and don't seem to welcome the younger age (I'm 29) very well. They work with lots of paper and little tech, which is hard for those of us who only ever have electronic documents, cards, etc. Their older clientele works really well for them and is definitely Dr. Richards niche. Sarah is the office manager (I think) and she does a really good job managing everything and understanding her Dr's preferences and needs. However, I would not recommend Dr. Richard to any Millennial. She was very annoyed at my providing insurance digitally, etc. I decided to leave the office before having to pay the co fee because I could tell it wasn't going to be a good fit for me. If you don't care too much about tech and being able to provide virtual copies of things, I do think she'd be a great doctor. I saw about 6-8 patients come in and out while I was there and they all seemed to love her.
Dr. Richards was very friendly and professional.
Dr. Richards is a very knowledgeable and caring doctor. She was very nice when diagnosing my problem and discussing my treatment options. Also, the wait time was only a few minutes. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Richards.
Love this doctor. Receptionist and doctor are very down to earth and listen to your needs before prescribing. Would recommend to anyone!
She is the absolute best and i wouod recommend her to anyone.
She seems to care about her patients. I would recommend her to everyone. Great bedside manner.
The doctor asked good questions once I was in the exam room with her. What has made me give the lower score is that when I walked into the office I wasn't greeted and when I walked up to the window the doctor was sitting at the reception desk listening to voicemails very loudly on speaker, and made no attempt to quiet them when I walked up. She looked up at me and said "we will be with you, sit down over there" and nodded towards the couch in the waiting room. Another patient walked in right behind me and the doctor and this pateient began discussing the reason for her visit while walking back to the exam room. However I could hear their entire conversation about this persons health and asked the receptionist who showed up if it was commonplace to hear the whole exam happening in the other room? She hopped up and when to shush the doctor and patient and then closed the door to the exam room I assume. Mainly I feel my privacy would not be treated respectfully in the regular care of this physician. Also, the waiting room and exam room were cluttered with old magazines stacked 4 feet high. And the doctor was wearing yoga pants. I appreciate casual but this was lacking almost any professional decorum.
I was treated poorly as if I was a burden. She violated hippa law in front of me twice and when asked for a referral i was met with resistance and again as if i was bothering her. She has a dirty "exam room" with a busted open exam table. The office is cluttered like a hoarders house and very tight. I was there for a physical and wasn't given one and she wanted me to schedule again for it and i still didn't get my referral for my well women's exam. I work 5 days a week from 6am-6pm for my time is super valuable so this was not okay. She billed my insurance still for a for nothing!
It was nice to be seen by a doctor that actually looks at your chart before seeing you. She was able to see what medications I had been prescribed in the past in order to make a decision for this time.
Dr. Richards is very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable being a new patient. She has great bedside manner.
What a disaster ...i get there on time for this?? The receptionist was good but it was downhill from there . She looked like hell the office was filthy she was dressed like someone lounging around the house. And talked like a bitter old bag. She misplaced her stesssa scope and when she found it under the table on the floor underneith some laundry. In the end i just wanted out of there so much i almost forgot my prescription!needless to say it was my first and last visit with that kook =/. Pass on this place unless ur drunk and u can say i ll have another round sir !
Once again, excellent care received from Dr. Marrie Richards and excellent service and support from her amazingly proficient and endearing assistant, Angie. I believe I have been a patient for about 15 years now and I can't say enough good things about Dr. Richards and the personal level of care and genuine concern she has shown me in that time. I highly recommend Dr. Richards to anyone looking for a general or family physician.
HORRIBLE ENVIRONMENT! She seemed unprofessional, not too concerned, didn't give much knowledge/explanations. Beds are all destroyed(ripped, torn, punchered, cushion going out, ext.), rooms looked dirty! Just very unpleasant!!
Office is well managed. Appreciated being able to use a Zocdoc type application to book appointment. It was easy to use, informative, and also provided the medical information forms needed to be completed prior to the office visit. Dr. Richards executed a thorough review of legacy information and provided a plan forward. Her to the point approach is very satisfactory.
I was very happy with my visit to Dr. Richards' office. The wait time was short and I was in and out of the office in less than an hour. I would highly recommend Dr. Richards to anyone!!
Great receptionist, but the doctor was rude, she didn't seem interested in helping me and seemed she was in a rush to see the rest of her patients. This was the first and last visit I'll have with this doctor.
Dr. Richards is very inconsiderate. She asked me why I came there and that I shouldn't have. She also asked why I did not go to my primary doctor; instead, in a very unsympathetic manner. Dr. Richards thinks you should only have one primary doctor so things do not get "confusing." First of all, you're PRIMARY concern should be to take care of any patient that comes to you, regardless of what they are bringing to the table. Second of all, there is NOTHING wrong with someone coming in for a second opinion. Third of all, my primary doctor is a male and I wanted to be seen by a woman for my certain case. Lastly, as a "doctor" you never make your patients feel lower than what they already feel when they are already scared or in pain of whatever they are coming to YOU for and that's exactly how she made me feel. Honestly, I was mistaken and thought she was a GYN, but either way of what I thought or not, she's still a female doctor and should've made me feel comforting. DO NOT recommend her to anyone, horrible!
I thought she was fantastic, it was my first time and she will be my GP from now on.
She is very thorough and knowledgeable
I am happy with the care Doctor Marrie Richards has provided for me over the past 2 years. I changed doctors when I began working at Greenway Plaza. She has also given me excellent referrals when I needed more specialized health care.
The doctor took a phone call about her floors at home during our consultation. When I walked in I thought she was the crotchety old office assistant by the way she answered the phone and spoke to people. Do I need to tell you explicitly that I would not recommend this doctor?
Quirky office. Very responsive staff. Very knowledgable doc. Found my new PCP
Dr. Richards was able to fit me in before had to leave for a meeting. She was efficient and helped me understand my various treatment options. Thank you!
terrible bedside manner. doesn't even examine me and then has the nerve to have her staff call and ask if I'd be interested in pricey "Concierge Service." Not from her!!
I scheduled my appointment for two and wasn't seen until about 3:15. Aside from the front desk lady asking everyone to use cash or check because its what [the doctor] prefers, she was friendly. One of the men in the waiting room with me was joking about how the doctor's sweet spot is just before lunch, after that it's a waiting game. The front desk woman chimed in with a laugh, "yea, she's usually always 30 mins late". While in the waiting room, I could hear every conversation the doctor was having with each patient. My time with the doctor was very brief, she barely made eye contact, and looked on her phone for medications for me. She was extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend her to anyone. Ever.
She's smart, kind, thoughtful and caring. I highly recommend her
Dr. Richards was very efficient and professional. I'm excited to have her as my new GP!
She was quick to see me, and listen to all of my concerns. She is also very personable and ask questions that made me feel at ease.
She did not do anything to make sure I was comfortable at all. She never gave me expectations about what to expect after the appointment. Now it's been three weeks and I haven't received a phone call or notice about my test results.
There is ONLY ONE Dr. in the office and a room full of patients. Waste of money for her to take your weight, height, and blood pressure just to hear your reason of coming in then refer you to a specialist... what is the point of leaving a note for your reason to visit if you are going to turn me away. Money hungry??? Why schedule all your patients 30 mins apart if you cant see them in 30 mins... you must be a Dr. Consultant not a physician. Not only that, I had to refill out the same info provided on the website they allow scheduling. Like an hour in and nothing. Then take another patient in front of me because i left my insurance card in the car... REALLYYYY..... the crappy office fits the crappy service. THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME!!!!
Horrible!!! I practically paid a visit for nothing! Don't waste your time. She was of no assistance and was rude. I got more feedback from researching online than her.
Listens. Connects. Knows how to get to what's up.
Doctor does not do blood draws and the assistant did not tell me that when I called and asked if they could complete a biometric screening. They didn't seem to understand that I didn't want to get my blood work done elsewhere because my insurance pays for my yearly bio metric screening and the lab would (and did) charge me separately. The whole experience was very strange, I ended up getting my bio metric screening (yearly checkup) elsewhere.
She listened, but I was not impressed with her care. It's almost like my simple symptoms were not a concern for her. I was just not sick enough.
I absolutely LOVE my visits with Dr. Richards. Not time wasted, we get to what's important and take care of it.
Great! The whole experience was professional and Dr. Richards made me feel comfortable.
She was very down to earth and straight forward. Although it took a while to be seen, she told me what I needed quickly and she was very empathetic about it too.
Good experience for a first visit. Plan to move the family of four to her practice.
Receptionist was rude, Dr. was rude and unprofessional. Facilities are cramped and poorly kept (e.g., furniture was mismatched and in terrible condition).
Her office was dark and dirty and it smelled AWFUL.
Went in because I was feeling ill. An as soon she did a few checks she figured out what was wrong with me! She hit it right on the nail! She knows her stuff and she knows it well!
That was the worst one ever , I went there for my annual check up, but before that I ask her if I should go ahead and do the blood analysis that she asked me to do last year ( I didn't do them back then because I had an emergency and I had to leave the country to go take care of my mom back home ) the doctor in fact wanted me to go ahead and do the blood analysis in the quest diagnostic located in the same building ) and she got me the copy of the paper from my file that I should take with me to the lab . She didn't put a finger on me , no physical check up , nothing and she was kind of nervous and with a weird attitude . Her office charged fully for the visit even though I was not checked !!!!! Furthermore, when I paid cash , they said that they have change and they will save it for me for the next visit !?? . I went and did the blood draw and I was supposed to get the answer from the doctor office 2 days later. I waited almost a week and nobody called me and when I called the doctor office , the secretary told me that the doctor will call me that same day and tell me about the blood analysis result , ofcourse , she didn't . Next day I called again, and finally dr . Marrie talked to me with a very weird tone and high voice telling me : you are fine , you are fine !! So I said : should I come for my annual check up ? Or do I need to do any further analysis because I am still getting the symptoms for which I came to see you last week ? She said : No, bye . ???????? THE WORST DOCTOR I'VE EVER MET OR SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE !!!!
Loved her! She was super sweet and knew exactly what wrong after a short check up!
I went to see her when I felt sick before going to visit my 90-year-old grandfather - I wanted to know if I had the flu, since I had fever and cold symptoms. Rather than do a fu test, she told me it was "too early" in fall for the flu, and told me I probably had a cold. So I went to stay with him for a week - and ended up with him taking care of me when I came down with really severe flu symptoms - he took me to emergency care when my fever hit 104. They did a flu test. Positive. I could have infected him - the very thing I was seeking to prevent. AVOID.
Let me start off by saying that I am a nursing student. I went in for severe chest pain that I've has for 3days. She asked me about my history, then faked checking my blood pressure manually because she let the air out of the cuff too fast so the gauge never jumped so I 100% sure see heard nothing. She listened for 1 1/2 heart sounds over my chest then ordered an X-ray. ?? This was a very mediocre physical assessment.
Exactly as needed.
She was awful! Completely unprofessional and the office was a mess. The room I was seen in still had the paper down from the person before and there were used medical instruments everywhere. Also, she gave me a pelvic exam without the supervision of a nurse or medical professional. Stay away!!
She's straight to the point and I like that. She listens and she gets the job done.
I'm appreciative but a bit confused because she never actually told me what was wrong with me haha. But prescribed medicine that did make me feel better so I am extremely thankful for that :)
Very informing and comforting and very helpful!
Thoroughly pleased with my treatment.
Dr. Richards is professional but seemed empathetic, honest and wanted resolutions. She business w/o being cold and distant.
Very slow test results. She has no capability of testing at office unless you have a specific insurance. I told her I was going out of the country and I even called while abroad. The point of seeing the doctor was to at least hear back but each time I called she was gone and I never received a call back. Go somewhere better!
She is very nice & puts you right at ease.
I made my appointment a few hours before I was seen. No problems at all.
Office has a great feel but new receptionist seemed completely disinterested in being there or assisting the doctor, who is clearly competent but pretty harsh. Snapped at employee (it was deserved), at person phone (she did have to repeat herself 3x), and at me for taking Adderall and Vicodin daily, despite my inability to dress myself or hold down a job without them. Did refill my prescriptions because I always have a folder with my entire medical history on me, and probably partially because I broke down crying the second she saw it and went off on "how it looks" for an attractive young woman to come in wanting these drugs (like I enjoy being dependent on prescriptions that are so strictly regulated I can't refill them and have to go back the doctor and pharmacy every month to be treated like a drug addict or street dealer). Best part was when she told me I'm chubby for someone in ballet (which is true, I DID ballet many years but not NOW, part of why I'm there) and then that she doesn't "believe" in my -diagnosed at age 16- condition, which is a disability according to the American Medical Association and U.S. Government. Going back in a month out of pure need to prove I'm serious, not selling, and open to anything she can do for me that no one has so far. Want to quell my curiosity and do her physical and full blood work up so I can get thorough current physical status and she can tell me more about her view of my imaginary conditions. Maybe it's that she reminds me of ballet teachers, but I like her. Definitely not for everyone.
I don't really know why some of the people here have left bad feedback regarding her. To me, she is a very good doctor for she understood me quite we'll and made that effort to help me appropriately. I found her to be very familiar like and to me that's a plus.
I've been to this office three other times without issue. However, this most recent visit was a mess. I waited for over an hour before being seen, two people left the office because they became frustrated with waiting. Rather than inquiring about the co-pay for a visit themselves they asked one woman to call her insurance and find out. Dr. Richards spent more time training her new secretary than she did with her patients. While, yes the girl needs training that should be done on their time, not on the patients' time.
Dr. Richards has a very strange bedside manner. Her appearance is also very unkempt. She was dressed in tight stretch pants and a raggedy sweatshirt. Her office looked VERY old (circa 1974). She had no nurses. She spoke very loudly to her office manager about being late from lunch. All this said, she seemed to know what she was talking about. I liked her in a strange way, though I doubt I'll go back to her. While the patient rooms were clean, the equipment was so old and dingy looking.
Dr. Richards is a straight forward physician. The office may have its "faults" but not her care. I transferred to her after years of care at another clinic. She has directed me to the specialist that I need and has been critical but kind. She requires a patient to be pro-active in their care and will not accept anything else. If you don't like an "in face doctor", don't go to her. If you do choose, her than be honest about your health history "she doesn't always have her crystal ball."
Poor bedside manner poor confidentiality (discussed me while others were in earshot including other patients). Bizarre behavior and did not take my condition seriously or listen to me.
She is very kind and always listens to me.
I will admit that I was 10 minutes late and that is a big no-no in the doctor visit etiquette handbook. I had to fill out new patient forms and the receptionist informed me that there was a good chance that the doctor would not be able to see me and that I may have to reschedule. Understandable, I was late. I filled out my forms before the doctor was through with her last patients and the receptionist took my co-pay so I assumed all was well. Then, 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment, the last patient that the doctor was seeing walked out. No sooner do I see the doctor's head peak through the receptionist window with a look of bewilderment. The receptionist, sensing her employer's disdain, explains to her that she did inform me that the doctor was "in a hurry" that day,(not before taking my co-pay, mind you). I was then greeted with a straight-faced, "please come with me, sir" by Dr. Richards. After a brief questioning, the doctor decided to take a look at my problem and gave a quick diagnosis and allowed a few follow up questions as she was walking out of the examination room. Thank you, doctor. All in all, Dr. Richards may have a superb bedside manner if you happen to catch her on a day with no preoccupations OR if you do not commit the mortal sin of tardiness. I for one, will not be taking that chance again.
Dr. Richards was a complete let down. She was rude and I overheard her call a patient a drug addict for needing a perscription refilled. Everything in her office is old and dusty (magazines from 2004). All I have to say is her examination tables are held together with duct tape. Don't say no one warned you.
She is a little strange and a little abrasive otherwise it was a normal experience. I went in for a throat problem I was having and she prescribed me antibiotics which eventually cured it.
Great doctor, definitely not into the new technology but knows her stuff!!
She is knowledgeable. She prescribed me some medication that completely healed my stomach, she had recommended a gastroenterologist if the medication didnt work, but thank God the nexium she prescribed did wonders!!1 i didnt have to go see another doctor. Thankyou. It feels good not to be sick in my stomach. Am so releaved.
Dr. Richards is a very honest, compassionate, and authentic person. I have visited her twice now and she isn't the typical doctor I am used to seeing. She does not have a fake persona or put up a social barrier like in typical doctor/patient interaction. She looks out for your best interests, listens, and I her opinions can be trusted.
I like Dr.Richards and her bedside manner. She isn't going to coddle you and have some fake line that she uses on every patient. Instead she will greet you politely and help you solve your problem. If its important to you that your doctor is super cheerful, upbeat and overjoyed to see you, don't come here. If competence and compassion are important Dr.Richards is a great choice.
Dr. Richards took the time to get to know me and listen to my concerns.
Very nice and I was in and out with my prescription quickly. Thank you!
I really liked Dr. Richards! Sh was warm and caring and addressed all of my health concerns. I would definitely recommend her!
Not professional at all.
We were not a good match. I had to come back for follow up on blood work, but I'm not intersted in being seen by this doctor.
She was great! No nonsense kind of lady. I think I've found my new primary care dr.
Upon arriving I was informed that I was suppose to fast the night before for necessary blood work. The office never informed me of this, so I had to return later that week. The doctor called me and another patient back at the same time, and put us in two separate rooms. I could hear everything she was asking him, and assume he could hear all of our "private" conversation as well. I felt fairly uncomfortable during my routine physical. When it was time to leave the Dr. did not say goodbye or ask if I had any further questions. While leaving I witnessed the Dr. calling back more patients. An elderly woman waiting thought she heard her name, and got up. The Dr. yelled at her to sit back down. The Dr. never followed up with any of my blood results. I will never go back to her. If you are interested in a cold and unprofessional experience than you may enjoy this Dr., otherwise stay away!
This doctor is unfriendly and unwelcoming. Her responses are also very cold to a hearty greeting. Her secretary is more warmer and smiling than she. The infrastructure of her office is also bad, torn sofas and broken chairs and toys. When asked for a reminder about next appointment to her secretary, she pops in the middle of the conversation and says " You have a phone; don't you, Put on a reminder for yourself and don't rely on us" This is total ridiculous and rude. I was not even talking to her rather I was involved in conversation with her secretary. Though she is experienced doctor, I may not see her again after my current treatment is over.
She did not seem very intersted at all and showed no concern. She almost seemed as though she was bothered by me asking questions. Don't care to go back.
Exam rooms not sanitary. She came in once in Yoga attire and sat down in the exam room in front of me eating yogurt. I heard her tell a patient that was a little older and a little overweight that the best form of exercise was pushing themselves from the table. That woman cried! She said the doctor never asked how or why she gained and just assumed she was fat due to over eating and being lazy. Many more reasons but I would never go back.
She was amazing. Lady doctor visits are the worst time of the year for me, and Dr. Richards made my visit extremely comfortable. I'm definitely not dreading my next visit!
Very personable, kind and understanding.
Dr Richards was very nice and attentive.
The Dr. was very gracious and listened to what I needed. I felt very relaxed and calm talkin to her.
I have seen Dr. Richards a handful of times over the past five years--by necessity, not by choice. Each time she has been rude, cold, and harsh. She is brief at best, and has no emotional ties to patients or her staff. On that same note, her staff is cold as well. I always left feeling worse than when I arrived--physically or emotionally. Seeing her three weeks ago was the last straw--she rushed me in, told me I only had a few minutes and that she was 'too busy' at the moment. Complete waste of time, money, and connection. You can find 1,000 other Dr.'s in the area that you would benefit from.
I dont get any of the negative reviews. Her office is a little old, but she is professional, knowledgable and everything you need in a Doctor. If you want someone to coddle you go see a shrink.
She is very knowledgeable. I have bronchial issues and she has treated me for that as well as a pinched nerve in my back. I only moved here a year ago and know no doctor's in this area. Both visits were very helpful. I don't have issues often but she tries to fit you in and assists rapidly. Very appreciated.
I was not feeling well and I was taken care of immediately with great attention.
It was just like what the other commentors said. That is why I chose her because of the great reviews she receieved and she completely lived up to those expectations. She's caring, she sees you as a real human being . She takes time to get to know you and your problems both mentally an physically.
She has a warm professional bedside manner. I really liked her!
Dr. Richards helped me in a compassionate and professional manner. She was thorough and solved my problem quickly. Very happy with my visit!
Dr Richards is phenomenal and expresses genuine concern. She is willing to help resolve your cares and is a great listener.
Dr. Richards made me feel comfortable and at ease and took the time to answer all of my questions. I will be a patient for life!
We felt as though she was very professional and attentive. We had arrived late, and she needed to leave due to a prior commitment, yet she stayed and saw us anyway. She is a wonderful addition to the medical community!!!! Thank You, Deborah Laurence
Very impressed. She took time to know about the patient, not just what you are there for that day. Impressed with how personable she is.
Dr. Richards is an old school no nonsense Doctor who talks to her patients and wants to understand all aspects of their health and wellness. I recommend her!!
Dr. Richards may be a good doctor, but if she does not "like" the prescription birth control that you are using she will FORCEFULLY object and make you feel bad about using it. Extremely unprofessional and quite honestly, she made me very uncomfortable due to her exceedingly strong and incessant views.
