The front office staff was very unprofessional and attempted to "rebuke" me for being only 20 minutes early instead of 30. I had a hard time finding the slight turn to the office and called 4 times in that 10 minutes trying to find the office. I was put on hold every single time and no one came back on line to help. The receptionist stated it was because they only have one person answering phones. My response was, "Maybe you shouldn't get snotty with new patients who are lost when your office was not beneficial in giving directions due to one person answering the phones." She was fine after that.

A Board Certified Pediatrician, Dr. Katalenas graduated from the University of Oviedo Medical School, located in Northern Spain, in 1982. She worked as a General Practitioner in her hometown of Oviedo, and also performed Clinical Medical Research Projects at the University Medical School.
Dr. Katalenas completed her Pediatric Residency training at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey, affiliated to Columbia University of New York. For one year she was part of the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Team at Columbia Presbyterian Children's Hospital of New York, taking care of children with cancer and blood disorders.
While in New Jersey, she worked at Northwest Covenant Medical Center in Denville, as a Hospital Pediatrician, and at Hackensack University Medical Center, Tomorrow's Children Institute, in the Hematology-Oncology floor and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
In 1996, she moved to Round Rock, founding the Pediatric Center of Round Rock, a general pediatrics practice, where she provides care for children from newborns to age 18. At the practice, she oversees a nutrition management program designed to help children and families make the lifestyle changes necessary to promote and maintain health. In addition, she provides care for newborns at the Round Rock Hospital and North Austin Medical Center. She has served as Chairman of Pediatrics at Round Rock Medical Center for three years, most recently in 2008. She is Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics for the University of Texas Medical Branch, a supervising physician for the Resident Program for UT Southwestern Medical School and a Clinical Instructor for the University of Texas School of Nursing.
Dr. Katalenas regularly attends educational seminars and is committed to providing the most advanced medical care to her patients. Her areas of interest in Pediatrics include the care of newborns, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, child and adolescent behavior and pediatric nutrition. She serves as a spokesperson for the American Heart Association in child/adolescent obesity issues.
Dr. Katalenas is a member of the Travis County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, the European Pediatric Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association. She served as a volunteer at the Round Rock Health Clinic, while collaborating as a Board Member, and is part of the Medical Mission Team at St. Williams Catholic Church. She served on the Advisory Committee for Easter Seals of Texas and was a Site Based Advisory Member for Berkman Elementary School in Round Rock. She has been a member of Rotary International since 2004.
Married for 25 years, Dr. Katalenas has 3 children. She and her husband enjoy reading, history, travel and gourmet cooking.

We had to arrive 30 minutes before our appointment time, but then didn't see the doctor unil one hour after our appointment time. I know doctor's offices get busy, but an hour and a half wait time is excessive. The doctor was nice enough and listened well. She recommended my son be re-evaluated for ADD which was slightly frustrting since he was already tested and diagnosed 4 years ago, however she did get the process started immediately. Overall it was an ok experience, I'd have to come to this office a few more times before I could say if I'd recommend it for sure.
